I actually like this location of It's Boba Time a lot better than the other one! It's much more modern, with an attractive exterior and patio chairs outside of the store. Upon walking inside, the lighting is much dimmer than the other store, making for a more intimate setting. The menu is just as extensive as the other location of It's Boba Time, though - tons of choices, but not as many people working behind the counter. I definitely felt like this location was much more laid back - a place for people to get together and hang out or study.
Despite all the specialty drinks on the menu, I played it safe and ordered an almond milk tea with boba. The drink came out fairly quickly and tasted pretty decent. Again, nothing special. It had the right amount of sweetness, but I could taste the powderiness of the almond milk tea. The boba was cooked well - had good flavor and a good amount of chewiness.
The only thing I liked more about this place was the interior (and exterior), and the fact that parking was much more manageable. Overall, a decent boba place in LA, but definitely not one of...
Read moreThe taste of the drink is just like other branches. But the service is really really bad. I got here a little earlier than my friend. He said he hit traffic. So I sat down in the corner and I said I would order when my friend's here. I was the only one sitting there and there were many empty seats. Not for a while, the waitress came and asked me when my friend would come. I said he hit traffic but soon. And I felt the waitress tried to say something, I didn't want to embarrass her, so I asked if I needed to buy something to sit here. She said yes. This was the moment I felt surprised. The waitress gave me a really hard problem. It wouldn't be right if I just ordered my own drink, but I didn't know what kind of drink my friend would like. So I ordered two Thai Tea. I am actually from China. In China, chain restaurants or cafe like boba time do not force customer to buy things to sit there. I don't know if this is a thing of America, or it's just this...
Read moreI came here Saturday morning after my grocery run. I usually DoorDash the PB açaí bowl because I’m obsessed, but since I was already out, I figured I’d save the fee and just grab it myself. I showed up at 11:01am, basically right when they opened, and asked for an açaí bowl. The guy told me I’d have to wait 30 minutes. Like, what? That makes no sense. Shouldn’t they be prepped before opening?
I didn’t bother waiting. I just drove to the Boba spot on Olympic and got my bowl without any issue.
Then today, my husband went to get us some PB bowls from this same spot, and again they told him it’d be a 30 minute wait. It’s honestly ridiculous. I’m used to waiting maybe 5 to 10 minutes max, which is normal. But 30? That’s a huge inconvenience, especially when I live just three blocks away.
I really want to love this location since it’s so close, but I end up driving further or using DoorDash because they just don’t seem to have it together. Super...
