Stole our money! Unbelievable.
Ordered a large 24pc soy garlic wings take out via Hungry Panda, which was running a 15% off promotion bringing the price from $45 down to $38.25. We’ve had this place multiple times before and loved it over Kyochon.
Got home to discover they gave us a medium with only 16pcs. Hey, could be an honest mistake, right? Happens, right? So wife and I quickly call them to sort out our options.
Guess what they say?
They said they base the size of the order on how much was paid, not what size was ordered. They saw we ordered a large, that we paid $38.25 which is more than the medium’s normal non-promotion price of $32, and decided they would only give us a medium, not mention it during pickup, and pocket the extra money paid.
What. The. Frack?
Seriously. They literally argued that it didn’t matter what we ordered, that the sizes and prices on Hungry Panda must be wrong and to take it up with them. For reference, the normal non-discounted prices on Hungry Panda are the same as BBQ’s own menu and own online ordering system, and we only paid $38.25 because BBQ is running a 15% off promotion with Hungry Panda.
Even if BBQ doesn’t want to honor the promotion price for some reason, on what plane of reality do they not clarify it with the customer, recognize that the price paid is less than what they want for a large and more than what they charge for a medium, and just silently take the extra money paid?
Nothing makes sense here. This is just blatant dishonesty, and it’s extremely disappointing because we’ve been loyal repeat customers ordering from them both on and off Hungry Panda.
We have no choice but to escalate this with Hungry Panda, which hopefully will make things right, but our minds are just completely blown by the idea BBQ would see a large order and say “nah, only gonna give them a medium, keep the extra money, and hope they never notice!”
The basic decency thing to do would’ve been to at least refund the difference, right? “Sorry, we can’t give you a large for that price, we must have a misunderstanding with Hungry Panda, that’s our problem, so we can refund you the difference or you can pony up some more money to get the large you wanted. What will it be?”
That’d be upsetting too but at least that wouldn’t be outright theft.
Fracking incredible.
UPDATE:
Hungry Panda did right by us and refunded us the difference between a large and medium (as well as taxes and such), at their own cost.
When asked, Hungry Panda also couldn’t tell us why the merchant BBQ handled things this way.
We note that the price of the large has now been updated from $45 to $54, so that the 15% off promotion brings that back down to $45, which is the normal full price one would pay in store or if ordering off BBQ’s own online ordering system.
That said, at the moment, the 15% promotion discount is still a real discount off the normal full price of the small and medium sizes. It’s only the large that...
Read moreI placed an order of fries and their regular flavored chicken tenders at the Korea town location, thinking that It was ordered at the fairfax location. When the order was delivered, they gave me the spicy flavor. I called the fairfax location and the customer service there was excellent. They offered to issue me a full refund immediately, however, I didn't order it there. So, I called the Korea Town location, which was where the order was placed. Let me tell you, they ABSOLUTELY refused to refund me for the chicken tenders which I told them that's all I wanted the refund for, not the fries. We texted back and forth from 6:14pm till 7:51pm. They insisted that it was doordash who should issue me the refund, which made no sense. They're the ones who cooked and packaged the food. They also told me that they called doordash and they said doordash will give me the refund and when I spoke with doordash they said the same thing I did. I called BH back because I was really disgusted by the run around and the hour I just spent trying to get a refund their answer was they don't have my credit card information, I told them that doordash said your establishment is the one with the credit card information and they already refunded BH the full amount of my order!!! what?!?! so, BH called doordash, spoke to them, and got a full refund from doordash and refuses to give me mine?!?!! wow!!! this is crooked! I don't recommend this place at all and I told them I don't need the full refund I just need the refund for the chicken tenders. My daughter is sick and we've been admitted to Children's Hospital Los Angeles and it's hard for us to get out and eat. She's 12 years old and just had a procedure done and couldn't eat for more than 12 hours. and first thing she wanted was some chicken tenders. And this happens, I told the guy at the restaurant as well at the end of our conversation... but, I'm sure they don't really care. I paid them, and they got paid again by doordash,...

Original Drumsticks: 5/5 This is my go-to item on the menu. I love the taste of the crispy, buttery skin with the tender, juicy meat. Their drumsticks also have a lot of meat on them, so having a few of them would probably satisfy your hunger. The original drumsticks have no flavor to them, but regardless they still taste amazing. You can purchase a sauce on the side and use it to dip the chicken, though it isn't necessary for me. I highly recommend, you can't go wrong with this choice!
BB Wings: 4/5 On their menu, they indicate the BB wings as spicy. However, I did not think they were spicy at all. The flavor was great nonetheless, but I thought they weren't worth it for its size. The wings are tiny and there isn't much meat on them. It honestly tasted like the mini version of the original drumstick, but with a bit of a kick to it.
Service: 1/5 I've never actually dined at this restaurant and I definitely would not want to, as their customer service is lacking. Every time I pick up my order, the servers are never friendly or welcoming. They also skimp out on the side dishes. For one order, they give you a free side dish of the radish. If you want an extra one, they make you pay an additional dollar. However, if I'm paying extra, I expect at least the same size of the free side dish. If you see my picture below, it's only one-third the size, which is pretty ridiculous. This is one of the few restaurants that I still go back to, despite the lack of customer service, because of the quality...
