Way too expensive!!
The staff is nice the outdoor dining is nice, it seems like everybody is really trying to work hard so I did not want to give anything less than a three-star, but it is so exceptionally frustrating to know you're going to have to spend $70 to eat here if you're a above average size man,
I saw a couple ladies who were pretty small enjoying a cocktail and a burrito and I envied them that they could probably spend $25 maybe $35 and be somewhat satisfied,
My experience what's frustrating because of the size of the drinks first of all,
The margaritas are $12 and there they come in a I believe it is a 6 oz glass cup, maybe even 8 oz but it is full of ice and hardly any drink at all! So out of frustration I ordered another type of drink, and still after drinking both of them it's like I had drink maybe two beers now I am $25 in the hole and I haven't even got buzzed at all!
So then I decide to get a burrito, I asked the waitress if the Cali burrito was just stuffed with french fries as I wanted a burrito that had plenty of meat in it she said there were there was a great assortment of both meat and not too many fries, when I got the burrito it was a potato burrito just crammed with french fries now I'm $38 in the hole and after some appetizers I was about 50 bucks in the hole and still hadn't eaten anything!
Anyway my friends were calling me a Karen, the manager gave me the food for free because I said I didn't want it, so I went home hungry ate the burrito later on in the night along with a plate of carne asada that they were going to charge me for but gave it to me for free, and that was that!
I ended up stopping at a liquor store getting $12 of awesome cold beers and enjoying the rest of my night,
Anyway I like the ambiance the people are nice the manager was nice enough to give me the food for free which I didn't really ask for, so I appreciate that, but anyway the food and drinks are very expensive and it is not worth your time or money unless you have about 60 to 70 bucks to spend, and I would for sure avoid the...
Read moreI would give zero stars if I could for the service. I’ve been to this location and the Marina Del Rey location a few times. I’ve ordered out a few times from the San Pedro location. They messed up my order one time, I called it in and they wanted me to bring in the dish back to them for proof. I thought it was strange but understood that some people may make things up. They replaced my dish after I brought it in. Today, for New Year’s Eve I decided to get take out. I opened the bag because I wanted to double check my order was correct. I didn’t take anything out nor did I open anything. When I got home the Molcajete dish which was at the bottom was leaking. When I took the bag out of the car it ripped open and the 3 dishes fell out. The 2 items that were not leaking and packaged correctly did not open. The Molcajete did it was all over the floor. I called it in and spoke to the manager - Raquel Padres and she wouldn’t take responsibility. They blamed it on me because I opened up the bag to check my order, they saw me open the bag and saw that I did not open any boxes. I offered to take photos of the bag and how it leaked due to it kits being packaged properly, and all she was able to do is offer me a discount to repurchase the Molcajete. She wanted me to repurchase the item at a discount. This meant me spending more money for something that was not my fault. I did not package the items. There was an obvious leak. If it was packaged correctly this would not have happened. I do not recommend this place. Nor will be giving them any more of my business. ...

I recently visited Kalaveras in San Pedro with a group of friends before attending the city's art studio tours. Having previously dined at their Long Beach location, I was familiar with the menu and had high expectations based on past experiences. Unfortunately, our meal fell far short.
After ordering cocktails, we looked forward to our entrées with anticipation. The fajitas arrived along with my carnitas dish. The fajitas were overly salty, and the meat was noticeably dry—not the vibrant, sizzling dish I had expected.
My carnitas were particularly disappointing. Instead of the tender, chunky pieces I've enjoyed in the past, these were overly shredded, drowned in a thin, red enchilada-style sauce, and cloyingly salty. The portion size was more appropriate for an appetiser than an entrée. The sides didn't help redeem the meal. The beans were served lukewarm, and though the menu claimed they came with Cotija cheese, there was only a minimal sprinkle, hardly worth mentioning.
Another vexing issue was the loudness of the place. The music was way too loud, coupled with the chatter of the other patrons, making the dining experience less than enjoyable. They should do something to mitigate the incessant din in the restaurant.
All in all, it was a complete miss. While I understand Kalaveras is a chain, the difference in quality between this location and the one in Long Beach was stark. Sadly, my friends and I won't be returning to the San...
