San Pedro has a lot of little hidden gems such as Think Cafe. Right upon walking in for the first time, I felt that this is locals-only "hot spot" as customers were chit chatting with the staff as old friends. Although I can't fully recall everything during my first visit, except that the food and service were great.

I want to take this time to highlight my most recent visit on Tuesday. My 5 other colleagues and I were quickly seated since we had a 12pm reservation. I believe the same waitress from my previous visit took our order. She went over the specials and really took good care of us. I had pineapple juice and the white fish in special sauce from the day's special completed with the chocolate hot lava cake. Pineapple juice was good, not overly sweet. The small size is pretty small, but I wanted to save room so it was fine. The special sauce consisted of chopped up tomatoes, corn bits, and diced up bell peppers swirled in a tangy sauce with a hint of spice went well with the brown rice. The fish seemed to have been broiled and light, yet tasty when mixed in with everything. I felt really healthy with no guilt eating the main course.

The chocolate hot lava cake melted in my mouth. The hot chocolate "lava" was delicious! I could drink it alone if it were an option! The cake was moist, not too sweet, but definitely flavorful. I ate that up with no problem!

My key to not feeling yucky after a great meal here was the fact that I didn't eat any complimentary bread. In the past I had a piece or two, the bread's pretty standard. I rather make room in my stomach for the...

A chef who really knows what he's cooking! I'm an east coast transplant. Only been in CA a year. I'm very picky about crab & clams. So, those were the dishes I ordered. If I were a bigger eater, I would have had the chowder, the crab cakes, and a main course. The clam chowder was smooth and delicious and filled with tender clams. I had a bowl and was sorry it wasn't bigger. Then I had the crab cake appetizer - very, very crabby. Not a "filler" cake but two real crab cakes. You could see AND taste the crab meat. My daughter had the fish and chips. This was REAL fish with chips. No heavy chain-eatery batter. Just enough breading to allow a properly fried fish. She kept humming that it was yummy; I had to ask for a taste. It was perfect. I was filled but a dessert that I didn't want was ordered - chocolate mousse cake w/oreo crust. Despite my protestations, I ate half. And, I usually just swipe the mousse off the cake but the oreo crust was perfectly oreo and complemented the mousse. Just to THINK, it took a year for me to find this restaurant. I will be back and will bring my visitors. By the way, we came just before the dinner hour and had a 4 year old with us. Food arrived expeditiously. They accommodated the child with a simple, healthy pasta dish (no hot dogs, thank heavens) and we had a stress-free meal. I could go on but I think you...

I placed a phone order, and the person on the phone was very pleasant. When I walked in, no one approached me or addressed me. It took approximately 2 minutes of me standing there and contemplating walking out before someone assisted me. That interaction felt awkward, fast, and force. I was in my work attire, so I'm not sure if they had an issue with that, but I'm always pleasant. When I left the establishment, I met up with my supervisor, who ordered food from the same establishment an hour prior, and told him about my experience. His response was "I thought it was just me!" If he made me aware of the unwelcoming attitude by the employees, I would have never gone there. This was my third and final time patronizing this restaurant. First time, I had no issue. The second time was not a great experience, kind of like the third time, but I wasn't ignored for quite as long. My third and final visit was enough to realize that me nor my money was welcomed there.

The restaurant was not busy, so I can't even take that into consideration as to why there was an issue. There are far too many welcoming restaurants in the surrounding area to deal with unprofessionalism, bad attitudes, and terrible customer service that I received...

I have lived in San Pedro for several years, but only recently discovered Think Cafe on 5th Street. There are many bonuses to the restaurant - in addition to the food. First, there is a private parking lot (big plus in this busy area). Secondly, they have a nice outdoor paito that is heated, upon request! (Perfect for our book club gatherings.). If you love to grab a drink with your meal and watch the latest sports game- this is your place, too! Now for the food... every one of the people in my group (seven in all) loved their meal choices. The portions were ample and 6 of 7 of us took home half our meals because the serving sizes were huge. (One had a side salad and soup.) I had the macadamia nut goat cheese salad with salmon (I switched the usual chicken protein for a small upcharge). The bean soup was also very good and complimented the salad very well. I also ordered coffee and it was fresh brewed. Lovely. The waitstaff was very attentive and kind. All in all Think Cafe on 5th Street is a BIG WIN!

Drove pass this cafe many times and have never seen it. We Googled pizza and stumbled upon Think Cafe. We arrived 20 minutes before they close. Surprised the cafe close this early but was told only on Sundays. A small spot, hidden location & food was okay at least my veggie tacos. My black beans was cold. The steak sandwich my boyfriend ordered to go, he saved it for later in the evening. He warms the steak up & it was rubbery. That's not a good thing at all. He couldn’t eat it. I am not sure if the cook just didn’t spend any time cooking the meat since they were preparing to close. Not sure I would give this place another try. I thought I would in the near future, but decided that there are tons of other restaurants around and no reason to revisit Think Cafe.

This place was so delicious! I went all out for my last lunch in the Los Angeles area. I got the Ahi Tuna Wonton appetizer, with plenty of tuna and avocado flavor to set off the crunchy wontons, an 8oz New York strip on a bed of perfectly seasoned vegetables as an entree paired with a sweet Moscato wine, and tiramisu for dessert. Everything was fantastic tasting, the steak was cooked perfect to my request, and the dessert finished it off splendidly. I wish I had found this place sooner into my stay! Just a few minute walk from Crowne Plaza L.A. Harbor, or there's plenty of street parking to nab.
