The restaurant delivery window is ran by two bully managers who LOVE to ban anyone at any moment. Picture this everyone. Their parking fits 15 cars tops and 99% of the time it's filled because so many restaurants there. Across the street there's a plaza under construction with zero parking. No Street parking on residential area next to it because you need a permit. To top it all this off they have a valet driver who takes up all the street parking so there's no parking in like a .5 miles - 1 mile radius. They will ban you if you double park or put on your emergency lights to pick up an order close by so they are forcing you to walk that mile and pick up on time and deliver on time which is impossible to Uber eats metrics because you are on a clock. They went beyond measures and had an officer there bullying drivers for a few weekends because it was getting real bad. They are extremely terrible people who have ZERO clue what drivers have to put up with and do to have their product delivered in a safely and timely manner. It's very bad. And I haven't touched the tip of the iceberg of all the rules they have inside the pick up room. No talking, no asking for order, no touching curtain. It's like a million ways to get banned type of restaurant when we are supposed to be "independent" they violate our IC Rights on the daily here treating us like employees with a million rules. Any lawyers seeing this please contact me because it's gotten extremely ridiculous and there's a lot of drivers in a same...
Read moreUpdate: My second time here - after trying cold fish wrapped into the seaweed I got contacted by one of the regional managers. I came again - this time in Monday and it was packed. I had to wait for like 15 mins but it was a holiday. I got seated and server lady was surprisingly good - I was getting food on time and rice to fish ratio was good too. The problem remained - half of my fish felt frozen. I will give this business 4 stars because of the regional manager and the bar's manager Christina - she was amazing - attentive, friendly, cooperative - what a great host! Thanks and I ll see you again soon
Original review: I like to go to Kazunori in Santa Monica and Marina Del Rey
Decided to try this one today. The interior looks a little different. The place was almost packed at 2.30pm. The service was good. The host and the cashier were less friendly than at the other locations but thats ok. What I really didnt like was the fact that all fish was cold almost to the freezing level. Therefore the taste was altered in a bad way - every roll tasted pretty much the same cause the fish shines when its a little on the cooler side. I got set of 6 and only crab roll was to the point. You guys need to adjust the temperature. The portions were a little smaller too. The atmosphere was ok I guess - not a place to go to socialize with other people. Everyone was minding their own business. Outside of that decent experience. Will visit it...
Read moreSo this is the sister restaurant of Sugarfish but just handrolls. They have a very simple menu with some pre-fixed items with 3-6 rolls options. I chose the one with 6 rolls. I probably could have done 5 but didn’t want to miss out on anything. 6 rolls included toro, yellowtail, salmon, bay scallops, crab and lobster.
If that sounds like a lot or you want a different kind of handroll you can also order them individually. It’s bar counter type seating, no reservations, so you just have to wait for a spot to open up and then they will seat you. Once you’re seated you place your order and they make the hand rolls right in front of you. They even tell you to eat it right away while the seaweed is crisp, the rice is warm and just overall fresh.
This has always been on my list but like Sugarfish they don’t take reservations so long lines tend to deter me so I’m not hangry. We went after 9pm so the wait wasn’t that long.
Staff is super friendly. The restaurant still has the decor of the old Sugarfish that is now at thr...
