Kismet Rotisserie opened in the old Yuca's after a very long wait to see what what fill the space. We live in the neighborhood and so I was very excited to try it. We happened upon it opening day. Hopefully our experience was indicative of growing pains, but I'm not wanting to return. It started off with a glut of employees at the register staring blankly at us, looking very nervous. After ordering I grabbed utensils and sat down to discover they were very badly washed. They brought new ones, also dirty. My child's $10 meal consisted of cold bits of shredded chicken, sad carrots and cucumber sticks, and a smear of plain hummus, all in cardboard boats. My 1/4 chicken was decent until I got to a very clearly uncooked middle. The waitress tried telling me that "It's because we use very young chickens"… Uh... She did not apologize, but another waitress gasped and quickly whisked it away. Nobody had much to say to us about any of it and I didn't push it. The hummus and chickpea salad was quite good, and the potatoes in chicken drippings have a great taste, though be prepared for greasy! I won't be returning as the price is just too high for...
Read moreI am not certain my experience was kismet, or at the very least it wasn't fate.
Nice, it was, amazing it wasn't, and satisfying it could just very well be. The Star of the show rotisserie chicken is a reminder of such a staple that could be found in much lesser places and yet it is finished by many cultures.
Just nearby, locals have too enjoyed the garlic-laced variety along with the traditional Mediterranean sides and sauces. Even the fast pace quick variety has its place in the running along with a club special that affordability rings loudly.
Kismet delivers a delicate rendition and subtlety to the humble rotisserie. Best enjoyed quickly off the heat as the skin never stays crispy after a long delivery ride, and/or enduring the extra steaming in a plastic container. The Shmaltzy Potatoes are an excellent side, and the pickled accompaniments are always very nicely done.
Keep in mind, the only fate here is the cost of the experience. For the better-seasoned know of other reasonable...
Read moreThis place has such a nice charm to it. It has wonderful outdoor seating. The food is incredibly fresh and the service is really good. I have to say I prefer sitting outdoors, but when it comes to a small business that offers not just one but two locations close by you can’t beat this place, didn’t even take seven minutes to get here. My friend ordered the veggie plate. I had to have the mini pita.
The first thing that I really love is speed of service even if you have to wait 10 minutes you wouldn’t even notice it because it’s so nice sitting out here.
The environment is so pleasant time to seem to sort of coach you like a nice warm breeze and before you know it, your food, staring back in the eyes waiting for you to enjoy.
Each point will welcome the next. I have to encourage you to try their...
