I have been living in San Pedro for well over a decade and this was my 1st time visiting this location. My sister and I went in to try it out and I was pleasantly surprised! First of all, when we walked inside, it smelled wonderful! The store was very clean & they had cute picnic tables set up inside If you wanted to dine in. I was really impressed with the quality of the cuts of meat, produce and fresh salsas. I have to say that I really loved the ambience because although a couple of the girls behind the counter did not seem to speak English, they were pleasant & smiled sweetly as the gentleman and the older lady translated our order. It was so cute how the ladies were laughing & singing along to a jaunty Spanish language tune as they prepared our food. The vibe was very LaFamilia and welcoming & you can tell they take pride in their establishment. I wound up ordering the fried Quesadilla and it was absolutely delicious! I can't wait to go back and purchase some fresh carne asada and chorizo & try some other salsas ( the mild green salsa verde was so tasty!). It was really refreshing to discover a local eatery that was actually good and fairly priced. I will be back often as I am very particular about where I eat & this place lived up to my standards. Friendly, clean and...
Read moreAll I can say is WOW!! I was hosting a barbecue and tried 5 meats - the al pastor, chorizo seco, pollo asado, and normal chorizo. The Al Pastor was insanely delicious! I barbecued it until it was a little crispy on both sides. I was a little worried it would be tough because I got a char on such thin cuts but guess what - it was SUPER TENDER AND JUICY inside. Everyone at the barbecue was silent while eating the al pastor tacos. It was the crowd favorite for sure. Everyone loved everything else too. I lowered the grill temp a little for the chicken because the cuts were a little thicker - I just grilled it for longer until I got an internal temp of 175. It was amazing! The chorizo seco was great on the grill too!! I thought I got 2x the amount of food necessary for the amount of people but everyone ate everything and was still asking for more. Thankfully I got the normal chorizo for myself to cook with eggs for breakfast the next morning and it was incredible as well. Cannot recommend this place more! Also - don't sleep on that habanero salsa - it...
Read moreVery good stuff. It was my first time there. Besides being an eatery it is also a store. The store itself is not much to look at. But the food is fantastic.
I had a chicharrones con chile gordita. It had been such a long time since I’d had one. It was soo good.
The lady there told me they can make gorditas out of just about every one of the different “guisos” they have there. So you take your pick. I will return in the future to see what else I may try out.
It’s great that they have tables there for you to eat if you like. I didn’t want to take my food home and have...
