The customer service could be better. The receipt is not delivered itemized so I couldn’t see why there were extra charges. Perhaps charging for every refill of water. I dined in and tipped $6 on my credit card. I asked for a takeout bowl for the soup. Waitress said $1 for the to go paper bowl container. You couldn’t just take the $1 from the $6 tip I put on my credit card? So I had to look for a $1 cash bill from my wallet. No signs posted on the menu or walls of needing to pay extra for to go containers. So, I was taken back that my credit card tip was not considered. In addition, another worker from the cashier side voluntarily offered me three small plastic containers to go for the side kimchi dishes when she walked by my table seeing me pack up my food to go. At first, I thought that was positively kind. However, saw that they were missing lids and pointed that out if I can have the lids. Afterwards, The lady gave me two lids and took back the third container and said, “No take out on the side dishes just only these two containers.” Well..why did you offer it to me in the first place then retract them after I pointed out the lids were missing? The customer service ruined my experience of the restaurant and I will never recommend or...
Read moreMyeongdong Kyoja has been a staple in the same location for years, specializing in Korean-style noodle soups (kalguksu).
Their signature kalguksu comes with chewy, uniform noodles and a rich, thick broth served with ground beef — deeply flavorful and satisfying.
The anchovy kalguksu offers a lighter, cleaner taste with a refreshing broth that’s equally impressive.
The cold spicy noodles (hoe bibim guksu) are made with chlorella noodles and have a well-balanced mix of sweet, spicy, and tangy flavors. The side of beef broth served with it is also excellent.
Portions are generous — almost like a double serving at other places — and they offer a free bowl of rice if you’re still hungry.
In my opinion, this is one of the best places for kalguksu and Korean noodles in Koreatown. Highly recommended for anyone craving authentic flavors and...
Read moreSamgyetang(Korean style chicken stew)was written on the signboard in korean, so I came to eat Samgyetang. The price is quite expensive, so I hope you know. There are glutinous rice, ginseng and green onions in Samgyetang(Korean style chicken stew), and there are no other ingredients such as chestnuts. Overall, the taste is not strong, so it's good. The side dishes are clean. I'm curious about other dishes. I heard that there were a lot of people at lunchtime, but there were quite a few people in the evening. The surrounding atmosphere is dark. They gave me the soybean soup for the dessert and it was...
