I decided to go back to The Venue after a 3 year hiatus (due to the pandemic and lack of money). I decided to stay and dine in despite their not checking vaccination in response to my asking because of a posted sign at the entrance that proof of vaccination is required. I guess it is their hope that people will be deterred and that enforcement won't be necessary (clearly). I didn't feel particularly uncomfortable until a trio showed up and one of them was sneezing repeatedly and sniffling and talking loudly and non-stop. I immediately masked up and asked for a box to pack up my food which had just arrived and which was not as advertised. The broccolini was just broccoli and the $12 add-on of grilled salmon was miniscule, dried-out & overcooked. The only saving grace was the beer I enjoyed, but even that was a desperate $12 attempt at recuping lost revenue by gouging by the bottle. I did not fault the bartender or the staff, so I tipped generously. I decided to revisit because I had fond memories of excellent food and drink, and even decent clientele. At least the staff are still above par. I will not be returning and I hope I didn't pay...
Read moreMy friends and I have been coming to this place for karaoke for years. They’ve always been a bit serious with security (walking past rooms and checking you’re not doing anything you’re not supposed to) and it’s usually fine but the this last time we went it felt like a microaggression. I felt like every time we looked at the door, there was a worker just walking by staring at us. We were suddenly “interrupted” multiple times under the guise of them checking that we were doing fine, but again, it was more than obvious they were just trying to catch us doing something. I literally don’t know what. The last straw was one of the workers suddenly coming into the room and looking through our table, telling us he was “looking for a receipt” or something. Again, not SUBTLE at all. I’m not sure if they saw four brown girls and they thought we’re doing something illegal? I can’t fathom what we could’ve possibly done to get that treatment but we felt uncomfortable the whole night. It’s so sad because we genuinely loved this place and have been coming for years, but after this experience we...
Read moreHands down the most gorgeous and stunning karaoke spot in LA. Although closed for indoor karaoke now due to the pandemic, I have had the pleasure of throwing multiple events here before and can't wait to be back for more when they reopen. It's so classy and vibey. Full bar and even dance floor inside - unlike anything else you'd find in LA. The food is amazing... every friend that I bring here loves the food and unique cocktails!
They are open for outdoor patio dining now, so get out there and enjoy while you can bc this place get soooo busy once they're fully open!
All the staff is super friendly/patient and they take time to label everything in both English and Korean so non-Korean speakers wouldn't feel left out.
PS - even if you think you are awful at singing, their sound system is so top notch that you'll be saying - step aside, Adele!
Thank you so much for all the great times,...
