A good solid place if only a little too crowded. The best part of Paoli's is to come for the karaoke. People come from all over the valley to sing their and there are some seriously talented performers that show up. They have a very large selection of songs to sing, and even the organizer gets into the act and sings. The place is almost always extremely crowded and it is actually hard to eat dinner there because of people going back and forth and dancing all around you. Because the place is so crowded it is also hard to get service although the staff is very nice and kind. The food is so so, I'm not trying to hurt anyone's business but the whole point of a review is to be honest so for me, the pizza is weird because it really doesn't have much cheese on it and is mostly sauce, and coming from the East Coast I'm used to pizza having cheese. The pasta is overcooked and mushy, but the bread they bring to the table is top-notch. The salads were well put together though and tasty. Definitely worth a visit but I would eat somewhere else first and come for the karaoke.

How can you mess up pizza… when in it’s the actual name of the place? I was not a huge fan of their veggie pizza that I tried. It lacked in flavor and to me tasted dry. There was little sauce, which for me was maybe a good thing because I didn’t care for the marinara sauce, but normally I enjoy more sauce onto the pizza. However, besides the pizza there are positives! I love the ambiance. I love the darker room inside seating and the entertainment itself is wonderful. I enjoy listening to the piano guys and all the songs. Towards the end of the night they went around asking for recommendations. Our waitress Jewels was also lovely. Very kind and attentive. The Greek salad was also very good. I’ll probably order something else next time that isn’t pizza. They have gluten free options here as well and vegetarian options, so this is a good place to pick for groups so everyone can pick something they will enjoy. Located on Ventura Blvd. Metered parking out front or park in their small parking lot behind the restaurant.

I had previously only been here for drinks but decided I was in the mood for some italian food and figured I would give the place a try. It was a good choice! Came in on Thursday around 7:45 and got seated immediately. Someone was playing lots of memorable songs on the piano, which added a nice touch. Warm decor and lighting, great for a date. Cool thing about this place, they also (unexpectedly) serve amazing Greek food! We ordered the dolmades and they were amazing. Sure enough, the owner even comes out to meet us and no wonder the Greek food is on the menu... he's Greek. Lol. Very nice owner, many points scored. For our entree we got the pasta e olio with shrimp. Nice and light but flavorful and the shrimp were HUGE. Like, I had to cut them into three bites. Overall had an awesome experience and would highly recommend people check this place out for Greek or Italian food.

I am writing this review because I am so angry about what happened here yesterday night Sunday 11/24/24. I have not stopped thinking about it. My boyfriend and I arrived here last night Sunday 11/24 close to 12am. Mind you that’s less than 2 hours for alcohol. My boyfriend kept a tab open at the bar while he did karaoke. He got 3 vodka redbulls. I ended up buying 1 Mai Tai but paid for it with my card which I closed out right away. We even ordered a pizza that tasted absolutely terrible. Well when it came down to the end of the night for us after his last song he went to close out his tab. The bartender was charging him for 6 vodka redbulls. He told me and we tried to tell her it was only 3 he ordered and she refused to believe she made a mistake. She told me he got one of my drinks so he technically had 5 for himself. Mind you I PAID FOR MY OWN DRINK. She claims I had TWO drinks. I only had ONE I bought myself which I explained to her. I even have it in my bank statement. I also told her to play back the cameras because I know she was in the wrong. I know my boyfriend only had 3 drinks because I was drinking out of each drink until I got my own which was when he got his 3rd. It turned into a huge scene and my boyfriend felt so embarrassed he just decided to pay it because of the uncomfortable situation which was not okay. He should not have been pressured to pay for 3 extra drinks he did not get. Plus if he had 6 drinks in less than two hours he would have been trashed. Sucks because at the end of the day this was a cool little spot to do karaoke. It’s unfortunate we had a bad experience with a bartender that doesn’t seem to keep tabs very well. Either that or she forgot to charge other customers for drinks and decided to throw it on my boyfriend’s tab to avoid getting chewed out. Regardless I hope karma gets her back. I’ve worked in customer service for years and as an employee if someone felt wrongfully charged I would have gotten my manager to come sort it out as well as play back the cameras to show the customer otherwise that way they wouldn’t feel like we wronged them. I think she probably knows she could have been wrong and didn’t want to admit to it. She even ended up giving us each a vodka shot. If she was certain she was in the right why would she give us free vodka shots after giving her a “hard time”? It honestly felt like a slap in the face. Like “oh sorry I charged you for 3 drinks you did not get here’s 2 vodka shots to make you feel better”. It was my first time here and the experience was fun until this incident. TO ALL FUTURE CUSTOMERS: CLOSE OUT YOUR TABS RIGHT AWAY TO AVOID BEING CHARGED FOR DRINKS...

Was greatly disappointed in this place. My family loves this place, this was my first experience.. We placed our order at least about 3-4 hours before we planned to pick it up. It was supposed to be ready by 6:30pm, so we planned to pick it up right after church so we could go home, enjoy our Christmas Eve dinner, and watch a family Christmas movie. Well, when we got there to pick up the food.. they claimed they thought it was for 9:30pm (even though we received both an email confirmation as well as a text confirming our order would be ready by 6:30pm). So the lady said we can throw it on the grill now and have it ready it a half hour, we agreed as a half hour seemed reasonable.. went to check it after that half hour went by, still nothing.. this time I was given no time frame, just kept saying they’re preparing it (sitting outside in the car with two kids, we were all starting to get hangry) checked in on them a few more times, and finally almost 8pm they say “it’s ready, let me bag it up”. There was at least a couple different groups of people who went in, and was able to eat and leave before we even got our food we placed hour before we needed it. I do my best to be as patient as possible, but planning to eat around 6:30pm, not getting our food until 8pm, then not being able to eat until we got home around 8:20pm.. I never eat this late at night, also by the time we finished dinner, didn’t have time for a family Christmas movie night. How bummed was I? Extremely bummed and disappointed. I just wanted one nice night with my family for Christmas and this did not help the evening go very smooth. To be told to wait just a half hour and after checking in throughout the night about 4-5 times, it turning into an hour and a half, that’s just not acceptable in my opinion. On top of that, the lady didn’t even seem genuinely sorry for their mistake. Glad we at least got some food after that long of a wait. But honestly, if I would have known it would be that long I would have had my family go somewhere else for dinner. It was a simple order of only about...

I visited Paoli's this evening to celebrate a good friend's birthday. I ordered a cup of coffee and wine for my guest. When the coffee arrived I'm pretty sure the cream that came with it was spoiled, but they brought me another cream, so no biggie.

Paoli's has a big Karaoke theme certain nights. I'm not usually the one to sing at Karaoke, although I do sing all the time at home. I finally got the courage and submitted a song ticket to the guy running the show. But they never called me after waiting for about 2 hours. I didn't want to press the point, so eventually I decided it was time to leave. So many people were more talented than I am, so I'm sure nobody missed anything, but I got a distinct impression; you need to be in the clique to sing here. If you aren't friends with the people running the Karaoke you won't get to sing.

I figured it was getting close to 1 am, so it's time to pick up the check. My guest goes to settle up with the bar and they won't let us; they won't allow us to split the check because we sat at a large table. I didn't have any cash on me, and I also noticed they didn't ring up the coffee nor the wine I ordered on the original tab for the table. I'm not sure what their plan was; to make me wash dishes? Because they refused to process my card?

I've been to Paoli's a bunch of times, and this was the first time I tried to get up on stage and sing. I'm kinda miffed that my experience was beset with foul cream, and exclusion.

I'll probably go back and try to sing again though. Maybe this review will get a part 2.

7/22/2019

Part 2: This place sucks if you want to sing. The guy never lets you sing if you're not a regular. By the time I was called it was too late for us again, and my name was in the ring for awhile. So many people got to go ahead of me. Even their bartender got to sing. I'm not going...
