Sandwich Saloon — Restaurant in Los Angeles

If I could give this place more than 5 stars, I would! The menu selection is great, and the food is blissfully delicious, well worth the prices, but what most attracts me is that over 3/4 of their menu is safe for people who must be gluten-free! Because they offer gluten-free wraps, buns and bread, at least 72 of their menu selections are potentially gluten-free! I have never gotten ill from eating there, although regular options are prepared there too, so I know the staff is careful enough for average sensitivity. The owner works as hard as his employees, showing up before daybreak to prep the restaurant, then pitching in with the staff to take and fill orders. And did I mention the food is blissfully delicious?? If you have to be gluten-free, and can tolerate food prepared in the same areas as food containing gluten, and you have been missing fat burgers and stuffed wraps and piled-high sandwiches with mouthwatering ingredients, and you are in or near San Pedro, California, do yourself a huge favor and go there! And tell the owner to advertise his gluten-free-ness!! We need to know this...

I am beyond disappointed. I just paid $30 for two omelet plates and what I got was honestly unacceptable. No potatoes on the side, the bread wasn’t buttered or toasted, and they didn’t even include butter in the bag. At this point, it feels like they’re cutting corners everywhere.

When you spend this much money on something as simple as breakfast, you expect a complete meal and a little bit of care in the preparation. Instead, every time I order it seems like the portions and quality keep shrinking while the prices stay sky-high. Skimping on basics like potatoes and toast just shows a lack of effort and respect for the customer.

Breakfast should never feel this disappointing, especially at these prices. I used to look forward to ordering from here, but now I feel like I’m paying more and getting less every single time. Definitely not...

I really wanted to like it… the first time I ordered from here, I got a turkey sandwich and it was amazing! Better than other sandwich chains. I then ordered the turkey again and it had less meat and a blob of mayo on it which was not good. I thought it was a one off so I ordered from here again today. This time it had even less turkey than the last time, the lettuce was off colored, and it had even more mayo! So much that it was squirting out of the sandwich. It was disgusting and disappointing. Sad about this review but I will most likely never order from here again. They lack consistency which is so important for returning customers. If you’re going back it’s because you expect the same product you got the first time. The sandwiches get sloppier every time I order.

The oatmeal chocolate chip cookies are good...
