Response to the owner: Nice try talking about "quality and organic ingredients" but I know those are just marketing terms and buzzwords to justify the ongoing price gouging and shamefully bleeding the most loyal members through the rewards program by upping the minimum point amount necessary to receive a discount along with the laughably petty greed mailing out one $2 off a $15 or more order which is an insultingly lowball discount that clearly has nothing to do with ingredients or employees and everything to do with the aforementioned pettiness and compulsive, mindless money grubbing. You've also failed to acknowledge or own up to the fact that it was declared upon raising the point threshold for the $7 off reward that there would be more double point days to compensate for the increase and this has clearly not been done in the roughly 2 years since the change took place with seemingly FEWER opportunities for double point days being given with a clear dropoff in the notices I receive for such through email.
Really despicable as to what they've done with raising the rewards points to receive the $7 off discount from 100 to 125 points along with the mailed coupons offering $2 off a $15 minimum order when those used to be $2 off a $10 order. They just HAD to have that extra $1 in not even making it a 20% off discount as it was previously when it could and should be $3 off a $15 order and obviously also could not be bothered to raise the reward bonus after demanding an extra $25 be paid to even obtain it (there does appear to be an option to receive a one time deal of $3 off per $15 order minimum if you place it online and sign up for texts from the company but this is still problematic as if, like me, you are only ordering for yourself you'll be hard pressed to find menu items at least $15 as many are capped at $14.99 which is just another slap in the face since you can't use it with the one cent difference so you're either forced to buy the most expensive items available or order extra food with a side item which are all more than $3 anyways). Please do not support this type of cutthroat and plain greed which is what in my opinion undeniably explains this price gouging and inflation does not excuse or even explain the need to do this on top of the hefty price increases on the food itself. I highly recommend going to Baja Fresh instead, they have a much more consistent and generous rewards program with $10 off for every $100 you spend if you're signed up as a rewards member and give a $2 off coupon for every possible visit of $10 or more orders with the food priced lower than here and being of at least equal, and in many regards, superior quality. Sharky's used to be my main Mexican spot but with all that has been mentioned being pulled of disrespectful price gouging I will never set foot in any of their locations again and urge everyone else...
Read moreWent to Sharkeys Mexican Grill on Norfolk in Northridge today with my daughter & 9 month old Grandson. My daughter & son-in-law just bought they're first home in the area. We we're looking for places nearby to eat & thought we would try it. Loved the food, great service and nice atmosphere. EXCEPT the place was crowded & the only place to sit was the long table with the high stools...the kind of table were you can sit with other patrons (enough seating for about 8-10). There was just one older woman sitting on the very end. We had no other choice (except for outside & it was a bit windy for the baby). We we're just about to sit when my daughter politely said to the lady "Hi, is anyone sitting at these seats"?..the grouchy faced lady said, "just one across from me, but I don't want a baby at this table". We were stunned at her rudeness. .than while gesturing with her hand, you know that rude back lash, hand waving gesture and continues to say.."I don't want him facing me, make sure he's turned the other way"! It took every ounce of my soul to not punch her in the face! We grabbed our things, I told her how rude she was. .she just said "whatever".. than continued to mumble some other who knows what. . We ended up sitting outside..Unbelievable! All the while my grandson was smiling and just loving his day! ...I am still stunned! What an awful, hateful, miserable human being!...I hope she doesn't turn out to...
Read moreThis was an extremely disappointing place. The workers couldn't care less if my order was correct or not. The so called 16 dollar burrito, was an utter joke. There was BARELY any steak in the steak burrito. It was LITERALLY ALL BEANS
I was extremely disheartened at the quality.
I tried calling back the store. I got no acknowledgment from the workers that this was not up to proper standards. No sympathies whatsoever, they just got irritated that I dared to complain. I was nice and polite to them on the phone.
They told me that I could drive out there, and they would make another meal. My uncle voted against it saying, "based on their apathetic response, I doubt they'll improve our ruined dinner"
I have spoken to management. They wouldn't give me my money back. They only returned my money by adding credit to my sharky's card. I added the receipt. Take note that they wouldn't credit me totally and wouldn't refund the tax. It's hilarious what corners they'll cut. Finally, they told me to, give them another chance
I'm worried about returning to this sharky's in Northridge, because I doubt the workers have improved in both attitude and cooking.
I welcome management try to resolve this issue.
If by some mystical chance I come back and order food, I will update my review.
I care about you dear consumer. I don't want to suffer the same fate by being ripped off and paying chili's prices for del taco...
