Sushi HON — Restaurant in Los Angeles

Some restaurants are such an integral part of your life that you never think about leaving a review. Sushi Hon has become that place ever since we moved nearby about a year ago.

The chu-toro is my favorite when I want to splurge. The salmon sushi and tamago are my other go-tos. The yellowtail scallion roll was something I first had here and now love. The Portland and Norton rolls are great. The takoyaki is a little pricy for what it is, but its tasty. The chicken thigh skewers are amazingly delicious for a place that mostly serves fish. The salmon teriyaki bento is my favorite for a week night or if I'm by myself (though it could be shared).

The servers seem to be pretty much always the same crew, and the are great.

I have been coming here for years. The food is good. The last few months I've been ordering through Uber Eats. I've ordered dozens of times. I get the Baked salmon roll and about 30% of the time they don't put the eel sauce. The roll doesn't taste the same without it. It's bland without the sauce. Even after leaving special instructions for them to not forget it, they still didn't put it. Shows a lack of care for the quality of your food. Other times they don't even include soy sauce. Also, I've ordered Miso Soup the last few times and they only fill it up half way. Today the container got even smaller, and even then, still filled it up only half way. You lost a loyal customer. My wife and I love sushi so when we moved to the neighborhood we started trying out sushi spots to see which would become “ours”. After trying a handful of other places we came to Sushi HON and knew immediately that this was the one. The fish is extremely fresh, the rotating menu of rolls is diverse and consistently high quality, the prices are totally reasonable especially for this city and their garlic edamame is probably the best I’ve ever tasted, but what really sets this place apart is the service. The staff is friendly, attentive, and has basically treated us like family from the first time we walked through the door. They’re the best....
