This is a good hotel. Not necessarily THEEEE best ever…. but… it still is a decent hotel to stay in. The walls are a bit toOo thin for me, in terms of blocking out noise. You can hear people’s conversations way too easily. Especially if they are blasting music late night or early morning, right next door to you. They recently hired some new people to work the front desk downstairs… so.. I think they are working on improving their customer service. There’s a nice pool in the middle of the hotel. I don’t know how often they clean it… but it’s still a nice addition to the hotel. Service of maids who clean your room is “ok” at best. Sometimes they have a bad attitude written all over their face. I’ve stayed a few times at this hotel, and overall, I’ll say the rooms are “ok” at best. They could genuinely add more amenities to each room… like a microwave, etc. however they do have your basic mini-sized fridge in each room I have stayed in. I prefer the higher level 3rd floor… just to get away from the “noise” that happens around the pool sometimes… and have some sense of peace and quiet. The parking is a decent size parking lot. However, when it gets too full, they ask you to park on the street. I don’t care for street parking. I prefer parking on the property. So I tell you GET THERE as EARLY as possible, to lock in a good parking spot. The hotel is conveniently located on Wilshire Blvd. So it’s easy access for one of the most busiest main streets here in LA. Most hotels here in LA are pretty expensive to stay at… I find this hotel to be REASONABLY PRICED for what they offer (which is good). I personally recommend going on Trivago and typing in this hotel, and booking it online ahead of time. Because, it may cost more at front desk… where online… you can get a good deal possibly. I prefer to always use Trivago (they compare all online sites for hotel booking). You’ll get a good price for this hotel through them. Overall, for cost, location, and amenities? I believe this hotel is a good choice. They like to put a “hold” on your credit card for $100 for “incidental fees” (which they return back to your card IF don’t break anything in your room). So keep that in mind. For food and stuff, you can always order in on Door Dash OR just jump in your car real quick, go on Google Maps here, and type in whatever your favorite restaurant or “spot” is, and pull it up quick. The hotel is within a close distance to good food places, Hollywood Walk of Fame, La Brea Tar Pits, Rodeo Drive, LACMA museum, downtown LA, (it’s kinda far from the beaches), Hollywood Sign is close, Mulholland Drive (some of the best scenic views of LA can be seen from up there… the city views are breathtaking from up there). You can type in “Mulholland Scenic Overlook” here on Google Maps to get you straight there. If you wanna book a TMZ tour bus ride, Hollywood Tour Bus ride? Then Hollywood & Highland, the cross street at the center of the Hollywood Walk of Fame, is very close by as well. The hotel could use a few more improvements, but HERE? I think you’ll like your...
Read moreRoom is clean, but had a weird scent during the stay which lead to the belief that these rooms are not actually cleaned properly between uses. Also, our room was right on wilshire blvd and was very noisy even with the window closed. Anyone smoking outside, the smell instantly travels into your room... which is not enjoyable especially with cannabis if you are a non smoker. The afternoon employee was very friendly (during check-in at 14:30 and helpful). Evening/night employee was very rude and at 3am me and my friend were watching TV and we had a knock on the door from the front desk clerk telling us they were going to call the cops if we didn't turn the volume down. Their TV's have a maximum volume setting of 35... if that's the max setting then I should be able to watch my shows at that level. This is utterly disappointing as we flew in from Canada at an exorbitant rate for what seemed to be a well reviewed establishment to go to a music event and can't even watch TV at a volume that suits my hearing disabilities. I would like contact from a manager asap... and when I asked the night time employee they just said it wouldn't be possible at this time. Not even remotely professional service other then the gentleman who checked us in earlier in the day. Noise level from your pre-programmed TV's should not constitute threats of law enforcement regardless of other customer complaints. These are issues that involve the hotel and their equipment and unique programming of each rooms TV, not my problem and I don't appreciate the threats for something that could have been resolved in a much easier and professional manner.

Read moreReview of Dunes Inn: A Horrible Experience
Our stay at Dunes Inn was nothing short of a nightmare. Upon arrival, we were met with a bizarre situation where a Mexican staff member treated us extremely poorly. Not only did he make us wait standing for an hour each time he wanted to process a transaction, but he also ignored us, claiming our reservation was neither made nor paid for and that there was nothing he could do. He told us to contact the manager at Agoda. He made several attempts at humor, was disrespectful, and lied about our card having no limits.
We have never experienced such a lack of respect. He yelled at us, claiming he wasn’t a thief when no one had made such an accusation. He told us to report him if we thought he was a thief, saying he hadn't stolen anything, which was baffling. This all happened after we had traveled for many hours and just wanted to check into our room.
Fortunately, during the rest of our stay, we didn't see him again. His replacement immediately resolved everything and assured us there was no problem with our reservation.
Beware of staff like this who can severely impact and ruin moments of peace, tranquility, and...
