Absolutely terrible service. I was helped by Chris and it seemed like he didn't know where he was at. Kept repeating things and kept forgetting what I ordered. He was so rude and didn't have the pleasantries a place with exceptional customer service usually has. Gave me no estimated time frame and would just disappear on me. He took forever to make 2 salads. I was there for like 30 minutes.
I then went to ask a woman named Daisynay if our order was almost done. She was even more rude. She just looked at me like I was bothering her, rolled her eyes, then turned away without saying anything. Came back a few minutes later and didn't even come back to me or acknowledge me. So terrible, I couldn't believe it. I was seeing customers who got helped after me get their food first even when my order wasn't nearly as complex. I feel more training on discrimination and serving customers as equals needs to be established.
Another significant amount of time passed and had to ask a third person. This person was actually polite and saw that the last item that I needed to complete my salad was on the counter the whole time. It just goes to show the irresponsibility and lack of awareness Chris and Daisynay possessed at this moment. Sweet Greens makes some incredible salads but the lack of even exceptional customer service really brings down the quality of this establishment. Definitely will not be coming back to this particular location.
I highly suggest for management to really properly train Chris and Daisynay to a level customers expect them to be. Above average customer service is not expected but at least a level where being polite is the standard and where customers such as myself...
Read moreI come here every week on my lunch break, and the staff is always so wonderful and personable. I know we are all human but Creshawn was remarkably rude. I had asked for a crispy rice bowl and I don’t have good eyesight, and thought they scooped quinoa. I kindly asked if that was the wild rice, to which they scoffed and pointed at the bowl and said “is that not rice?”, I was taken aback and just said “sorry I couldn’t tell”, they saw my shock I think so they laughed sarcastically and said “I mean, it looks like rice”. I shook it off as I assumed they were having a bad day, but the attitude only grew by the minute. They gave me the wrong protein, and I politely and gently said that I’d asked for salmon, they then said “ugh! See?”… implying it was my fault somehow? And slapped the bowl down and haphazardly began tossing food into a new one. They then kept looking up at me between tasks to give me rude looks and when I answered the questions down the food line they responded or looked at me like I was dumb. I was so baffled and confused. They then gave me bread after I said I don’t want it, and gave me the aioli sauce for the fries after I said ketchup. Its hard not to assume this was intentional. I went back in to get the correct sauce… it is okay to make mistakes, we are all human! It’s so silly to treat people this way, and I was disappointed it happened at a place I love and frequently go to and am friendly with the staff. I will keep coming back but this employee really needs to learn kindness...
Read moresweetgreen was super great today. Hard to appreciate a chain restaurant more, really. Fighting the good fight with great food this Silverlake location not only has an enviable rotating menu but also parking lot that even represents the best of Silverlake ala carte (if you are familiar).
This is one of the places in Los Angeles that is genuinely competitive with European level cuisine in terms of quality, freshness, and a commitment to aesthetically sound food pairings. Haven't had a bad meal here and don't expect to.
The Chicken Caprese + broccoli, chickpeas, dried onion and breadcrumbs I had today was wholesome and delicious. The fries and their house ketchup also smashed. Ditto for the green ginger drink I had.
Anyway, I don't want to belabor but if you've never been here, I could become a new favorite and if you're visiting from out of town, it's a great example of what makes Silverlake so special. It's definitely in regular rotation for me, especially if I don't have an afternoon to lounge but want a quick bougie lunch montage. Highly...
