DO NOT TRUST THEM WITH IMPORTANT EVENTSā¼ļø I placed a order for my sons bday cake 9in custom image with fondant & 12 cupcakes I was priced paid deposit & told to send the image we set a time to pick up the cake for 1pm on 7/1. This lady calls 10 min after I was gone she mistakenly priced me for butter cream & it was be another almost $40 on top of the $142 I told her I would call her back once I got settled I was driving. She calls me back tells me she will just do the fondant for what she priced. I called her 3x to confirm where to send the image she never answered she finally answered yesterday 6/27 gives me the email address to send the picture for the cake this was at 2pm she calls back close to 5pm right before closing to tell me I have to bring the image to the bakery printed out & that she told me this the day i placed the cake order & she remebers because we talking about the sizing & didnt select a cake size. SHE NEVER EVER MENTIONED THIS BEFORE not when the order was placed, not when she called 2x about the pricing mistake she made, not when she finally returned my call about where to send the image & she gave me the email address to send the image for the cake. I do not live in town or near by to just up & have to bring in a printed image. I called her back to cancel & ask about the refund process the cashier took my name & # said she would give it to the lady to call me back tomorrow. I called her because the call was not returned at 1st no answer then pick up hang up then the cashier answered stated she gave her my info i start asking about the refund process she gets nasty I GAVE HER YOUR INFO i said ok do you know anything about the refund process THIS LADY HANGS UP IN MY FACE i called back no answer 3x i called from a different THE SO CALLED OWNER ANSWERS THAT WAS JUST NOT THERE TO SPEAK ABOUT THE REFUND PROCCESS lol i just could not believe the amount of unprofessionalism taking place. So i ask her about my refund she wants to continue back & forth about the image it no longer matters the cake is canceled i asked her about the refund she tells me they dont do refunds on cakes only store credit THE CAKE WAS NEVER MADE I NEVER RECEIVED A CAKE nowhere on my receipt does it say no refunds or a refund policy nowhere in the location says no refund. I ordered a two tiered cake for my daughterās College Graduation (wow a big milestone) because due to COVID she didnāt get a chance to have a graduation in 2020. So I wanted to go all out for her this time. I placed my order on 4/13/24 put half down gave a picture of how I wanted both cakes top tier white with buttercream filling and bottom tier royal blue with pineapple filling, mind you the order form says reference picture. Went back a week later at about 4pm to pay the other half, and there was a lot of unprofessional, lots of clowning going on and one customer talking about how they used to give him free stuff and two rude young ladies! Anyway my pickup day was 5/10/24, when I got there to pick up my order and to my surprise it was Totally wrong, they bought out a white tiered cake the top and bottom tier, I was shocked and let them know it was wrong and Loria A was giving me attitude like it was my fault. I saw AG who initially taken the order and personally said she was going to do my cake, but when it was wrong I never saw her again. I called the Metairie store to ask for a manager because mind you when asked for one while at the Gretna store no one knew who they were. They told me to come back at 4pm and they will redo the cake! The color still didnāt look right, really the whole cake! The next day at the graduation party still got disappointed because the whole cake was pineapple filling top tier no buttercream at all. I tried calling on 5/13/24 to speak with the owner or manager at the Gretna store @ 7:23 am they pretended to take my phone number and was going to call me back. I called the Metairie store on 5/14/24 and left a message with Yolanda and she remembered the situation and she had taken my phone number so she can have the owner call me back, and I am still waiting on that call but as you can read, it never happened and Iāve given them ample of time to. I am not surprised that many other one-star reviews are about cake orders. I tried to order a cake for almost a week. The hours on the website were incorrect, so I stopped by a few times, but the store was closed. I also left a voicemail, and there was no online ordering. The owner later told me they never answer their voicemails, and she wanted to start telling customers not to leave a message.
When the bakery was finally open, the person behind the counter could not answer my questions. The cake decorator came to the counter but did not answer my questions. She started talking about something totally different and was not interested in listening to what I needed. So I decided to figure it out myself, but the first person said I would have to wait for the owner to take my cake order.
When the owner arrived, she discouraged me from buying any cakes from them because I asked about allergens. Although, I have eaten their cakes many times and was only trying to decide on the best options. By the end, I thought everything was straightened out, and I could order the cake. But the owner kept making comments putting me down because she blamed me for the miscommunication with her employee earlier; although she wasnāt present, and I was already fighting back tears. She said that I needed to be held accountable. So I decided not to get a cake there because of how I was treated.
I went to another bakery. They were friendly and helpful. They answered my questions and took my order in about five minutes. I will no longer spend my money at Antoineās when there are better options. Places that value their customers and provide quality customer service.
I hope the public holds Antoineās and other businesses like them accountable for their subpar...
