I am so glad I got a chance to check out this restaurant before the end of 2020. I heard such great things about it was described pretty similar to the well-known Houston's here in New Orleans. Metairie has 2 location. We ended up selecting the newest location of the 2 which recently opened in Elmwood in a prime location. Plenty of parking. Hosted a party for 7 for a birthday party. Greeted by wonderful hostesses the door. Chill-low key ambiance. Now before I get into the food, I wanna make a note that I called ahead to see if they had a kids menu and if there was an age limit in which it was told "No." Getting to being sat and being greeted by our server Cecelia whom seemed either a fairly new server or just plan nervous. Either way, she was not in her element as it would be expected in this type of establishment. Upon a few of the individuals ordering drinks, multiple drinks were made incorrectly and/or wrong liquor used within the drink ordered. On one of my guest orders a French 57 that 1st came out completely wrong, then after getting the replacement it came out hot. Another guest order a Prosecco that came out warm and had re-ordered another one that the server never brought out. A drink was also ordered by a guest that she wanted made with Cognac. The server then stated tol her that the drink is only made with Gin in which my guest replied it can be made either with Gon OR Cognac in which the server stated, here we only make it with Gin. Now, mind you, the person ordering the drink is a well-known bar tender at G.W. Finns. The server then refuted and stated she would ask someone in which came back and advised it would be made with cognac. It seemed the server was more trying to ensure she was trying to possibly follow rules instead of ensuring the customers were taken care of. Food and appetizers were ordered. Apps for those that ordered came out well.
It was time for main food meals to be ordered. With me being on a intermediate carb fast, in ordered from the kids menu to ensure I control my portions not over-eat. About 3 minutes or so later after taking our order, the server returned and stated her manager told her that the kids menu is only for those ages 10 and lower and/or only IF You order 2 or more items. I advised I called up to the restaurant prior to arrival and asked and was told it would be ok to order from kids menu and also that it does not have an age limit listed no where on the menu AND the fact that she took my order initially as if it was not an issue. She seemed to have no remorse and pretty made it aware that was no deviation from what she was told, which forced me in to ordering a larger meal portion. When food order was placed, the actual meals came within what seemed to be 7-10 minutes which was fantastic! The 2 food-runners were very welcoming and handled placing the food correctly to everyone.
Food presentation was fantastic and it even tasted as good as it looked. The best thing about it all was everyone got hefty portion sizing. I was soo surprised with my ribs and ENORMOUS house salad. Having so much food but it not being heavy to make you have the feeling of over-eating/stuffing yourself was the #1 consensus that everyone agreed they loved. Now after receiving our courses, the server didn't come back to the table until about 20 minutes afterwards and she legit just looked and then walked off without asking how everything was or if anything was needed. The food was great, great atmosphere, the server Cecelia on a scale of 1-10 would be rated a 3 as she seemed disinterested in ensuring that the table had a great experience, which is a key component, i.e: checking in on table, asking how everything is going, making suggestions, knowing the menu, offering solutions to problems that was caused by either her or the...
Read moreIt were my mother birthday 5/18 and our plans were to bring her to New Orleans fire food and spirit restaurant. When we arrived there it were a hr wait do to graduations,so we called the other boulevard which didn't have no seatings for first of 8. We called this one and they had it so we drove there in Harahan. Upon arrival we were accommodated and greeted well. Once seated we waited like 15-20 minutes before we were able to place orders for food, after waiting like 30 minutes for the food the food were not hot at all to be at a restaurant. It were my first and last time visiting this place. 4 of us order ribs 3 which were half rib and 🥔 just cheese and bacon no sour cream or green onions 1 whole rib with fries. The half of rib were so small more bones than anything and not to mention the rib they bought out to my mother on her birthday were a broken half of rib whereas a 9 month baby can eat it. Well after notifying Zack who were our waitress bout our food who looked and acted like he were exhausted he stated let him get his manager. The manager came over who's name were Jeff asked us what were the problems etc etc so we told him. He said can I get u all a chili or salad? We stated yes Sir, I didn't eat the chili/tortillas only tasted it and was not please with it but my mom/sister enjoyed their salad. My mom changed her order to chicken tender strips and potatoe after seeing my nephew food and was disappointed with her ribs. I,my sister and niece still wanted the ribs cause I'm definitely a rib person. Well when our food came the potatoes had sour cream, green onions on there something we didn't want on there and the ribs were even smaller. I asked Mr Jeff what is this where is the meat on the ribs cause all u saw were bones, his words were flip it over I flipped it over with the butter knife and were like where is the meat???!!! He stated there it go I didn't want ruin my mother day or birthday by getting ignorant with him from being surcastic towards me after we waited for our food that were not hot to only come back with smaller ribs and sour cream/green onions cheese and bacon on our potatoes something we didn't ask of just cheese/bacon. So we took it as a loss and choose to NEVER return to that Boulevard restaurant Ever again!!! Mr. Jeff needs more training in his position cause we were the guests that experience this horrible experience and his attitude were ridiculous!!! I could have seen if he were paying for our food to feel like he did but WE PAID for our own food and could have ate somewhere else. Now I know Not to go to that...
Read moreWhaaaaaaaaaaaat 🤪 This was my first time here and I'm surprised that it's even in louisiana! I'm not downing the South it's just so incredible how all these great restaurants are beginning to open up and the service is on par! As someone who has worked in the service industry in such restaurants as Saison in Frisco and Spago in West Hollywood... The wait staff here highly impressed me! Christian, our waiter, was Non-Stop and very attentive and didn't slow down for a second. But that was for every server, manager, bus help, kitchen help, etc! The entire restaurant was ablaze with staff everywhere tending to little details such as a straw wrapper or even a chip that fell on the floor was picked up immediately by somebody else coming behind! I remember specifically wearing shorts on purpose to see what the dress code was and to see the reaction from other patrons and I can tell you this much... Not one eye blinked! This is one of the great reasons why I enjoy writing reviews and giving accolades when do! 💯 But did I forget to mention the salad? 🤪 Baaaaaaby... The best salad I've eaten in a while in any restaurant that I've attended to! We mainly ordered the basic fair ... the French dip sandwich and a cheeseburger! And both were very delicious! The cheeseburger surprise me because well, it was a real darn hamburger! 🏋️ The French dip...? Delicious! I can't wait to return to really enjoy the menu and the wine selection is beyond my comprehension! But I'm going to save that for a later date and then recap another review ❤️ One more thing, the waiter, Christian, knew the restaurant's history and everything on the menu! That impressed me very much so as well! Even the dress code for the servers, management, cooks and bartenders impress me so much that I felt embarrassed for even wearing the shorts on purpose! What a gem of a restaurant! How in the world did the owners find such great staff is beyond my comprehension because it takes two to make such a great restaurant successful and memorable! This, by far, is the longest review I've ever given and well worth it!💯 On a final note... Allow me to add that this place is definitely LGBT friendly and all inclusive! 🏳️🌈🇺🇲🇩🇴🇲🇽🇭🇳🇿🇦🏳️🌈 YOU MUST GO TO THIS...
