Really, do not go there.
I am Mexican who started living in Louiville 4 months ago and love dancing, love salsa, bachata, cumbia, even one or two reggaeton songs, I barely complain about a place, just a regular guy with simple preferences.
Place is ugly, music is unnecessarily high, I love go discotheques and know what I am talking about when I said volume is extremely out loud.
The music, my goodness, worse music(is offensive call it like this) ever, I don't know how the place pays to that "DJ", my god, is awful, god dancing song completely destroyed, altered to be awful; Believe me, I´m not kidding, I heard for first time in my life(hopefully last) "other side" from "red hot chilli peppers" salsa version, I almost puke with that music.
People is the worse of the worst of the worst people I´ve ever seen(and been in many ugly places), people extremely ugly with that Mexican cholo style, overdressed, wearing a cap, girls extremely ugly(literally, is not a subjective interpretation), you know, that kind of people you only see on tv and you think "come on, that people don´t exist", around 200 ugly, very ugly guys and 70 poorly dressed needed horrible "girls". Believe me, not even borrowing your hands or lips and been drunk could possibly touch one of those person, first time in mi entire life I see a place with not a single one decent or relatively good looking person(boy or girl).
At the end could say that I started to scratch mi skin I think wasn't something psychologic.
First time I write a review about anything, but I really needed to prevent you people. DO NOT GO TO COCONUT BEACH.
Never in my life was ashamed of being latin, this was a shock for me.
PS: This place is need to the airport, I think should be placed inside the airport, put all the place in a plain and make it explote on the air, there wouldn´t be a...
Read moreI LOVE Coconut Beach. The interior is great; definitely more casual than upscale. It is very spacious & the booths are honestly the biggest I've ever seen. It's typically quiet and not very crowded (which I love), unless a game is going on. It is converted into a dance club on the weekends, so yes, there is a full bar & the mojitos are amazing. It shares a lot in common with Guaca Molé & El Taco Luchador, in terms of food, which is definitely a good thing. I am a huge fan of the Cuban influence in the food here. The only thing I can really fault them for is the lack of vegetarian or seafood options. I can only really eat the vegetarian burrito or quesadilla, which isn't a big problem though, as they are both...
Read moreThe best fish (or pork) tacos and guacamole we've had in a very long time. The place looks like a big, friendly and colorful sports bar but this is also one of the places from the owners of Havana Rumba, Guacamole, El Taco Luchador etc. so we were there for the food and not the decor. (It's right behind Cardinal Stadium so yeah, it should probably look like a sports bar)
The food is fresh, tasty, and spot-on. We haven't been to the Latin dance-fest weekend but the food is worth the trip. If I was Latin and could dance I would be there on a Saturday night!
Imagine Taco Luchador with more food options, more tables, and room to spread out and get comfortable. Definitely...
