With a little fine tuned marketing, this place could be great. I'm a local who previewed the name and menu and was never inspired to visit. DJ's Watering Hole sounds like a bar and the menu looked like a mish mash of southern inspired Indian bbq. A friend suggested meeting there for lunch after he enjoyed some leftovers from his wife's previous trip. The menu is indeed Bombay-BBQ. I ordered the Green Pepper entree which was one of a few vegetarian items available. I found the quality and flavor quite good, despite excess sauce with hot space that overpowered the flavor of the dish. Upon leaving we realized that DJ's charged us for each soda refill, not free like most places. So half our bill was for soda. Some suggestions to DJ: 1. Focus your messaging. Your name says nothing of what you offer, perhaps discouraging more diners. I would change the name or add a tagline as clear as "southern inspired Indian BBQ" 2. Streamline your menu. The menu items are fine, but the descriptions could be clearer. The Green Pepper Entree could be renamed "Green Pepper Samosa." My friend was equally confused by the name of the chicken wings. 3. Add a meat alternative. You seem to have all the proteins covered except for vegetarians. I would normally suggest tofu, but Lulus has that BBQ covered. Consider grilled or BBQ tempeh or a Beyond meat alternative burger, sausage, beef. 4. Free soda refills please.

Not sure how this place has a 4.7 rating. I was very excited to check this place out. My sister and I were extremely disappointed. Hands down, the worst food we've ever had. The chicken was very dry, fries were stale, and the cornbread was dry and flaky and tasted freezer burnt. The waitress even admitted that it was frozen.. We had to walk up to the waitress because we waited for a while and she didn't check in on us. She was sitting and chatting with her coworkers. We told her that our experience was aweful. No refund or discount was offered, and she had the nerves to tell us to come again and promised that their wet wings are delicous.. I'm not one to write negative reviews as portrayed in my profile, but wow, this place was a serious disappointment.

I'm willing to give this place the benefit of the doubt with a 5 star review because I have never had masala sauce and BBQ before and man they go sooooo good together!!! Also they have only been open a month so a few small quirks are fine. I had the ribs and brisket with the masala sauce and both were delicious! All the flavors in the meat really complimented the sauce. Both meats also and had good flavor with nice bark. Both were a little dry and overcooked but only enough to notice but not enough to ruin the dish. The cornbread is also delicious! Moist inside nice crust on the outside. Would of been nice to have some butter with it, but still good on its own. I will def be back and can't wait to see what they do next.

Hello so I am so offended after the experience I had last night at the CU Alumni Event! We were there to celebrate and reunite with our old friends and pretty much enjoy ourselves which we did until I met the Bartender Courtney ( found out her name and that she is management) she was very unprofessional and very disrespectful/rude. She made my friend and I feel like scum and the sad part is I think because we are mixed with black. We went to the bar for the 1st time after being there for about hour to get drinks everything was on a club tab from CU. Well when we ordered she said rudely what tab is this on I replied the “ The CU club tab,” she rudely said it is closed you gotta pay!Well that was fine but we didn’t know it was closed and she rolled her eyes at us in disgust as if we were irritating her. I wouldn’t have mind paying but my purse was across the room because I didn’t know the tab for CU was closed. Well she became disgruntled as my friend walked away to get our purses. One of the Football player alumni’s noticed her attitude towards us which was not only making us uncomfortable but causing a lot of unwanted attention from other patrons. He then noticed her egotistical attitude towards me because she said who is going to pay really loud and he said, “ Hey it’s no problem I will pay for the drinks!” She absolutely had no patience and made me feel like I was scum! Crazy thing is I am a successful business owner and could have bought a round for the entire room if I wanted to! I have felt the way she made me feel which was my color offended her. I am a biracial woman white and black mixed and so I am not being bias. Courtney should be fired asap!!!! My son and his girlfriend whom now also attend CU are in their 3rd year of pre-med always frequent the restaurant but now because of what I experienced will no longer visit. Hurt I feel hurt. Hannah was on the other hand amazing, she was the only waitress to all of the alumni and totally rocked it! She took orders and delivered with a smile on her face! Make her a manager if she isn’t already! Thank you Hannah for being a light in the room you...

If you are a potential customer feel free to click on my profile ans see that I never give a bad review. In fact I only review places that I like 9x out of 10. This was the worst dining experience that I have ever had. We had been wanting to stop here and eat for a long time as we drive right past here. It took 30 minutes to get our food and when we did, I had the brisket and the pulled pork and both were just minced and mashed meat pudding held together by gelatinous fat, lukewarm and extremely salty. I was very embarrassed that I brought my wife here, we couldn't eat what they gave us so we had to leave hungry, irritated and -$50 for our time. This is definitely the worst dining experience that I have ever had. My wife spoke up right away and got her meal comped. I was so embarrassed that I tried to eat my food, but could muster about 3 bites but i guess that was enough to get charged for it. My 4 year old picked beans with his food that he couldn't eat because there was no spoon. So for $50, my son ate a couple...
