I actually cannot believe how incredibly bad the service was here. We waited forever for our server to come over and take our order, I ordered chicken teriyaki, my friend order tuna tartare, and we ordered two sushi rolls. My chicken came out about three minutes later, and we waited almost 40 minutes for the rest of our food. we had to flag down our server multiple times to ask her where our food was, she just kind of mumbled something and walked away each time. Three separate times she told us that it would be ready in two minutes, and another 10 to 15 minutes went by each time. I understand that they were very busy when we came in, but this is no excuse. We had to flag somebody else down to ask where the salad was that was supposed to come with my meal and didn’t, they never brought it, I don’t even know that we actually got the sushi rolls that we ordered, it was a disaster. We had to ask somebody else to finally bring our check to us, and after our server walked by our table multiple times with our credit card in the book standing straight up, I finally had to ask her to go and run the card. I will absolutely never come back here and I wouldn’t recommend coming here if you would like to be at the restaurant for less than two hours with...
Read moreAfter seeing the good reviews and because we are trying to sample all of the well-reviewed Japanese restaurants in the area, we got takeout from this place one recent evening. I ordered the deluxe sushi sashimi combo and was disappointed. The fish was just fresh enough, but only barely, the slicing and presentation of the sashimi and sushi was not very good, and the sashimi actually had a small portion of fish tail in one piece, which isn’t acceptable at all. The included sushi and dragon roll were all barely average as well. For the nearly $40 entree price before tax and tip, it left a lot to be desired. I also got some fried chicken and it was either actually calamari or was marinated in a way as to make the meat’s texture and color look different than any chicken I’ve ever seen. The miso soup was above average, at least. We have discussed trying again but this time, dining in. When I picked up the order, the restaurant itself was packed and everyone seemed to be enjoying their meal, so maybe takeout just isn’t their thing? All in all, though, we were pretty disappointed in our...
Read morePrompt & polite service. I agree with some of the other reviewers that service does feel a bit rushed.
Hubby & I stopped during early dinner time - just wanted a light snack to share since we'd eaten a massive late breakfast.
They automatically provided us miso soups while we perused the menu - soup was OK.
Ordered: ▪︎ Large hot sake - good, we got a 2nd one. ▪︎ Chicken laksa rice noodle - this is huge & very filling, be hungry 😅. I was surprised to see this on a Japanese restaurant menu bec the last time we'd eaten it was in Singapore.. the waitress said the owner or chef was Malaysian so they had added it to the menu. It was OK but we both agreed wouldn't order it again. ▪︎ 1 of the special rolls: salmon asparagus crunch & spicy mayo - I couldn't taste the salmon at all 😕 (not worth $11 if you can't even taste the fresh fish) altho enjoyed the crunchiness from the asparagus & crunch.
Really wanted to love this place but the food was overall...
