BEWARE! I ordered a new couch from them, custom pillows, a light, an ottoman, and a rug. When I received the delivery I was confused about the pillows that were received because when they called to let me know that my furniture was in, they told me that my pillow was on back order, I assumed all 5 custom pillows were on back order, they were not. Apparently I was supposed to have received 4 out of the 5 pillows and I signed off on my delivery order not knowing this. After my husband came home he told me I was wrong and we were missing 4 pillows. I called them within 72 hours and was told they would get back to me very rudely by the representative answering the phones. They didn't get back to me for 2 weeks! So I called again, was told to call he warehouse, and just given the run around. The manager asked me to send him a picture of what I had, I was out of town and told him I had one photo and if he needed more I would send them to him. He said he would research and get back to me. Flash forward to about a week ago, the warehouse called me to tell me my pillow that was on back order was there. I told her I did not want it until my issue was resolved. Then I received a phone call from the manager telling me that his boss was supposed to get back to me and he would find out what was going on. Then I get this email from him "Joy, I have spoken to my District Manager regarding the pillows and he is willing to have the pillows re-made if you agree to split the retail on the original order, which was $540.30. Your half of the retail cost would be $ 270.00. This is because you have signed the delivery ticket as complete , with no shortages. we have looked and investigated and according to our records the pillows were delivered to you without issue. Let me know you want to re-order the pillows at the $270.00 cost." Not the common courtesy of a phone call after I have been waiting for them to contact me for the past two months, but he couldn't even call me and talk to me about this so he hid behind an email. The WORST customer service ever! This was my response to the manager: Hi Robert, No thank you, we will not pay for something that we never received. I will also not be accepting the pillow that has been on back order for the past 2 months, we did not agree to a back order and we did not agree to that timeframe when we discussed delivery times with your sales representative. The pillows were not delivered, I never received them, and I am very upset that you are questioning my integrity at this point. Your company's customer service to handle this issue has been appalling with the amount of time that it has taken for you to get back to me and I will be sharing this experience on social media and I will be contacting more people to attempt to get a better resolution on this. Put me on a do not call list for your salespeople because I will never do business with Ethan Allen again. For someone who is willing to spend thousands of dollars with your company, I am deeply annoyed and frustrated with the callous way you have handled this. IF I COULD GIVE THEM ZERO STARS I OWULD HAVE, IT WILL NOT...

The sectional was delivered after initial review, and the workmanship was sub par. Moreover the delivery men gouged my wall for a very simple delivery requiring literally a 20 foot walk with no steps. The sectional had ill fitting cushions and visible seams in 8 areas, not something expected with an $8000+ couch. The designer was responsive and agreed to followup. The outcome is they will offer a full refund after they pick up the couch but I will have no furniture and they were not willing to maintain a prior credit they offered requiring me to pay an additional $2200 to bring the total cost well over $10000 for another selection that would work. Since that was not acceptable to me, I have to purchase elsewhere and will not have any couch for likely months. The worst display of customer service for a client who has used Ethan Allen for over 30 years
I recently purchased over $12,000 in furniture from Ethan Allen. The showroom is beautiful, and Tamara Paiva provided excellent design advice—the quality of furniture is impressive. However, my experience was soured by a significant pricing error ($1,200) made by the staff, which I was advised by Heather Wise my options were to find a fabric "more within my budget", pay the $1200 extra caused by their mistake or remove an item from my order to make up for their error. At this point I decided to cancel the entire order as no compromise was even considered. After I advised the store to cancel (I was within the 72 hour window) only then was Ethan Allen willing to honor their mistake. Totally stressful situation for me which could have been avoided
I was also assured I would benefit from further discounts before delivery, but this promise was not honored when a new 25% discount became available as it was shown to me by Heather their ad clearly says former purchases could not get any price reductions; the ad was very clear so I had no ability to dispute that policy. This was not what I was told but of course I had no proof of a verbal conversation. Moreover since Ethan Allen did make good on their $1200 error, Heather Wise said I already got the lowest price possible, but these were 2 separate issues, and was a disappointing response.
Delivery scheduling was also not communicated promptly. 2 items sat in the warehouse for close to 2 weeks before I proactively called and only then was delivery scheduled
While Ethan Allen offers great products and design expertise, I am disappointed with their customer service regarding pricing errors and their overall communication, once you have purchased your items, are sorely lacking. Due to this experience (and I literally have every room filled with Ethan Allen furniture except 1) I would not patronize this business again. I had a much more pleasant and customer service experience with Woodley's Furniture and would likely use them before considering Ethan Allen. Note my sectional is set for delivery soon so hopefully that goes well and I will not need to update...
Read moreWe ordered an Ethan Allen dining room table ages ago - which is now discontinued, but it is still perfect for us. We had a 'gazillion' chairs from various relatives, so at that time, I didn't order chairs. Flash forward 25 years and we moved into a bigger house with a formal dining room that really makes the Ethan Allen table shine ... but the chairs? Four of these and four of those and four others plus the random ones to seat all 22 of our family when we gather, really didn't do the table or the room justice. So! We order 16 new chairs! (It's a big family). They take forever, because, you know, COVID. But they finally arrived! The dining room looks like something from a magazine! We smile when we sit down instead of cringing, hoping the old chairs didn't crumble beneath us. The table is sturdy and still looks beautiful after two decades of use. The new "Mackenzie Carved Armchair" chairs are solid, very comfortable and the detail on the back slat makes me happy. They blend very nicely with all the antique style furniture we favor. The white upholstery may not be the wisest choice, but we don't have little kids at the moment, so fingers crossed! Things that were important to us: my feet touch the floor when I sit (I'm 5'-4") but my husband is also comfortable at 6'-3" without his knees under his chin. The seat is wide enough that our hips aren't hanging over the edges. The chairs are comfy enough that after the meal we can all sit around and continue to chat and our butts aren't getting sore/tired. The back-to-front depth of the seat is generous enough to feel spacious without making my legs stick out like a little kid. Really happy with...
