STAY AWAY !!!!
This is our second time staying in this hotel. The hotel is new and modern, clean rooms with pretty comfortable bed and linen , the AC leavs a lot to be desired ,the shower had Lukewarm water at best and very low water pressure. Walking into the room, the AC was turned off and the room was hot and muggy.
On both visits we’ve experienced very poor check in process and interaction with the staff namely the manager( Wanda) On our first visit the manager on duty ( Wanda) was having an issue with a guest , delaying our check in which took in excess of 30 minutes , there was nobody else checking in ahead of us . At check-out We were charged for parking and didn’t even have a car , getting the charge removed took a long time and delayed our departure , being here on business that was simply unacceptable!
On our second stay , we’ve purchased the most expensive package , which included a welcome drink at the bar and a breakfast , The young girl who checked us in was doing just fine until the same manager from the last visit ( Wanda) started getting in her way delaying our check in process , when we asked about the breakfast she told us that it was for purchase , we advised her that we purchased the package which included the breakfast and she started arguing that we didn’t…we had to pull the app and prove to her that we did paid for breakfast.
Next…the bar was suppose to open a at 1800 , we arrived at 2000 to get the drink we paid for but the bar was closed , Wanda advised us that the Barman was coming later but did not specify a time , when we asked when was he arriving , she said she wasn’t going to argue with us….( nobody was arguing about anything …) Finally she offered us a 20 dollars credit but not before upsetting us both.
The TVs in the rooms were not working , reading other reviews it appears to be an ongoing issue, we enquired what was happening and were told that few other guests reported the issue and that it’ll be fixed very soon , now nearly 9 hours later none of the TVs are working and worst there is nobody to talk to ( no maintenance personnel on duty and definitely not about to get ourselves upset dealing with Wanda)
You get this single tiny soap bar for your entire stay ,both for the bathroom sink and for your shower....( See photo)
I feel that the manager is seriously lacking managerial skills and interpersonal skills.
Breakfast...our waiter was as nice as nice can be , the food was terrible, greasy and flavorless, we order eggs with a certain type of cheese because my colleague can't eat cheddar and sure enough they put cheddar instead , when the waiter asked the cook what type of cheese he used he said he didn't know...really ??? No real milk, cream or half and half , that fake one they used was spoiled... An hour later my stomach was a mess...
Our platinum Elite status allows us a 1400 late check out , they only allowed us 1300 which didn't stop house keeping from walking in on me at 12:40
When we stood behind a couple of ladies to ask for the check-out extension, we gave up after about 15 minutes... overhearing the conversation they had it appeared that they were overcharged for something...
This all is being as far as the sun from IHG standards.
We were planning on extending our stay but under these conditions we will not be staying at this hotel ever again and strongly recommend others to refrain from this...
Read moreI am a Diamond Elite member have been for several years. I have never had a issue with any IHG hotel I have ever stayed at until this visit here. I don't expect special treatment, but when a person has stayed at only Holiday Inns for 4 days a week for 11 years one would expect a normal sized room. The lady at the counter was extremely nice and the lady the at checkout was also nice. The hotel was clean and seemed maintain good enough. Their luggage cart is the worst I have ever used anywhere, we were better off with lugging it ourselves. When we walked through our rooms door we had to walk down a narrow hallway then take a sharp left to a room that is 10' x 11' with a king size bed. I wanted to go down stairs and ask for another room, but my spouse asked that I reframe because we really didn't have the time due to an appointment we needed to engage in. I thought we are just sleeping there anyway just do it and get it done. When we returned and settled in that's when we had issues. I never stayed at a hotel where I had to move furniture out of my way to get to a bathroom. The desk was next to the bed and I had to pull the desk and chair out from under the coffee stand to sit at the desk. When you want to use the bed you have to put it back the way it was so you can get to the bathroom. The Ironing board is stored in a built in amore, but the only plugs in the room are on the nightstands or bathroom. I had to block the bathroom door to use the ironing board due to the lack or floor space. In the past I have stayed in some off the worst hotels, motels this country has to offer, but I never had to move furniture to use the bed, desk, or bathroom in my life. I had to place the chair in the rooms hallway to be able to get to the bathroom during the night. I was so upset that anyone would be given this so called room I was going down to complain about it, but my spouse begged me not to. I checked out showing the checkout lady the broken hairdryer we couldn't use that morning, just wanted to make sure I got my $100 deposit back. That reminds me you also have to pay $16 to park on their property. You are already paying to stay there, it seems crazy to pay again for your car to stay there on the same property. I am doing this review here In IHG and I will also place it on all Hotel websites so you the consumer know that if they give you the rooms next to the elevator just go back and demand another room. It is not worth trying to move around the space just to do bodily functions, ironing, or just moving around. I am not asking you to not stay at this hotel, The employees were very nice and the hotel is clean. Just be aware of some of the rooms that should have been elevator maintenance rooms instead of an actual room. This was not a room, it was a closet made to a room. I have stayed at several holiday inns before and most of them have given me an upgrade room due to being a Diamond Elite, but it seems I was given a downgrade at this hotel. I wish I never spent my points...
