I am a chef and my specialty is homemade pasta. I was anxious to try this place- as it seemed "authentic"- and had it delivered to my hotel room. I ordered chicken parm, a side order of Meatballs and Sausage.
Deliver was quick, phone staff was nice, delivery driver was friendly and polite, my order was correct and it was hot. All good there.
Price? 25 bucks- only because they could not add the meatball to my order because "they would not fit in the container with the chicken parm"...so I had to order it as a full side...($5.99)...FYI...the meatballs were relatively small and would have fit in the container without forcing it to come as a full order side.
The quality was not remotely close to what I paid.
I did not know it came with a salad. It was lettuce, one slice of onion and cheese and olives. That's it. No tomatoes, no cukes, no croutons...and I hate Olives so I could not eat the salad because the lettuce had already absorbed the olive juice. Who serves a salad with just lettuce, olives, a slice of onion and cheese?
My food?
Spaghetti, given how it broke, appeared to be homemade and was not over done. If you love a ton of sauce and cheese, you would have been happy (I do not and it was drowned in both). The sauce was very bland and very watery. leaving about a inch of pink water drowning my noodles.
The chicken was not breaded well and was cut up into bite sized pieces...not a quality cut either...normally, an authentic Italian place serves a well-breaded full breast, so I was disappointed in the chicken they offered. It tasted fine however.
The meatballs on the side were small to average. They too appeared homemade but did not have a ton of flavor- they were, however, edible. There were four of them, drowned in sauce and cheese- a ton of each. Again, a plus for many people so that would be good for you...not for me.
The Sausage? I expected a link..or a link that was sliced...instead I got pizza sausage- very mild and bland at that. Unimpressed...
No parmesan cheese packets (but again, there was way too much cheese anyway) nor crushed red pepper packers that normally come with italian pasta take out orders.
Breadsticks were you average variety breadstick...they were decent and fresh.
I will try them again for their pizza and subs- mainly because I won't trash a place after one mediocre order and also because their delivery was fast and their staff was pleasant...but def would not order pasta again- which too be fair, is usually not done very well no matter where you go unless you make it home...
Read moreVisited Louisville this past weekend. Ate there Friday night and then again Saturday. Called in Friday for pickup, was told 15 minutes then changed their mind to 25. So I came in about 35 -40 minutes later and still wasn't ready. This was 12:30 am, so it wasn't very busy. Customer in front of me ordered a large but received a small and wasnt very happy when they tried to convince him that it was actually a large! First evidence of shadiness, but I didnt have too big an issue with the incorrect waiting time, and the pizza was good so I ordered again the next night. Pizza did not taste the same and was overcooked. I ordered off the menu on the website, which according to me should have cost $25. I was told $31. When I picked up I questioned the pricing(which was also on the menu IN THE STORE btw), and was told that the website and menu were wrong and that the prices are not correct. But nowhere in the store were the supposedly correct prices posted. We argued and argued and were told too bad...you're not getting them for any less than $31. Finally gave up and paid and then weren't given our pizza because i was told 25 again and we were going on 45 minutes now. After a few minutes we asked for the pizza that we paid for and someone went back...came out with the pizzas....tossed them at us and said "HERE!!!!". Horrible customer service which is a complete shame because I have to admit the pizza is pretty decent. Not as good overcooked but still ok. Dont see how you can advertise one price and sell it for a completely different price? Very shady. I hope the extra $5 was worth this bad review. I would not recommend going to this place. By the way, I was charged a completely different amount on Friday night then Saturday night, but neither matched the...
Read moreStopped by before concert tried to order breadsticks and drinks only to be belittled by manager stating " so you're on a budget"! When called on his remark he stated he was the mgr and told us to leave. The rudest ever encountered in the restaurant business. Don't ever waste your time in this jerks place...
Response: Currently reviewing what happened. From initial talks with front counter your husband was belligerent with staff and was asked to leave. I will review cameras and audio to confirm or not and be back to you.
Reply: I could only hope any customer would let your staff have it when they are ridiculed for ordering breadsticks and taunted about "being on a budget" my God I hope you dont condone this. He also got told to order a Coke or something instead of water. He is diabetic and he doesn't like Diet Coke. He basically was discriminated against for his disabilities no matter how you look at that. There are federal laws that protect the disabled I hope you know.
I was assume any customer would say something back after being insulted about being on a budget!!! That is not acceptable under any circumstance. He is a retired police officer and be no means would be belligerent for no reason. We have a customer who witnessed what happened and spoke out to us about the incident. I'm sure your staff will cover their words at all costs and youll make the excuse for what happened.....we want nothing from you at this point but will be sharing on media for years to come about this. Look at all the other comments about your rude staff. Sure you've got some good ones but plenty of bad as well
And what kind of game is this anyway? My husband asked for the manager and he said he was the manager and he didn't want our business there...
