Jay's Burgers is more than just a food truck—it's a must-visit destination for anyone craving an unforgettable burger experience. Located on a dedicated property with plenty of picnic tables for outdoor seating, Jay’s offers the perfect spot to enjoy a delicious meal under the open sky.
Their signature burger features two smashed patties of grass-fed and finished beef, cooked to perfection with a juicy, rich flavor that’s hard to beat. Each burger is layered with a slice of melty American cheese, fresh lettuce, ripe tomato, sweet onions, crunchy pickles, and topped with Jay’s signature sauce. Every bite is a perfect blend of savory, tangy, and fresh.
The fries are just as impressive—crispy and golden, cooked in a unique blend of sunflower oil and tallow that gives them an amazing crunch and flavor you won’t find anywhere else.
Jay's Burgers is open Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., making it the perfect lunch spot. The casual, laid-back vibe with picnic table seating lets you enjoy your meal in a relaxed outdoor setting. Plus, for a fun and nostalgic bonus, they hand out old-school suckers or bubble gum with every order.

Read moreVisited on a Wednesday at 11am. Parking was no problem this early. Service was quick and friendly. There is one menu item. Burger and fries for $14. This is the kind of place that makes you recalibrate your scoring system. I could go back for next weeks lunch. I could go back tomorrow. Easily one of the best burgers I've ever had alongside very tasty fries. Here's the thing about the burger (and fries). There is nothing special about it. No gimmick, unless you consider quality ingredients a gimmick. It is simply a perfect example of a cheeseburger. Every ingredient and proportion is as a cartoonishly perfect cheeseburger would be. A minor note that I appreciated - they sell largish bottles of spring water rather than small bottles of drinking water. We look forward to our next visit, and would not hesitate recommending it to others. Caveat: weather and insect activity can and will affect your experience here. This is a food truck with dining available at outdoor...

Seriously though, its a good smash burger, but the absolutely raving reviews are too much for me. People seem to go over board because its a truck that only opens a few days a week for a couple of hours at a time serving farm to truck grass fed beef.
In my honest opinion, Toasty's is still the top smash burger in Louisville. It is also cheaper and you wash it down it with a cold and beer.
Try both and see for yourself which one is better.
