Just ordered a delivery order and received the weirdest interaction I've ever had with a delivery guy, a wrong order, and inappropriate message left by staff (which I have photo evidence of).
My order was simple: a #7 Spicy East Coast Italian with ONLY the salami, capocollo, lettuce and add yellow mustard. Meaning, no provolone, tomato, onions, peppers, oregano-basil or oil & vinegar. When my sandwich arrived, all I got was bread, meat, and mustard. :/
You may ask "why so many exclusions?" and it's a simple answer of because of dietary restrictions, and simply not liking some of the ingredients that they use.
Trust me, if they had the option to build my own sandwich, I would have much rather opted for that route but Jimmy John's doesn't provide that option.
Based some other reviews, surely there's a comprehension problem as my order should have been interpreted as everything that normally comes on the #7 EXCEPT for these items and then add yellow mustard but that wasn't the case.
My biggest issue isn't even with the missing lettuce itself. It is with the service I had when the sandwich got there.
When my sandwich arrived, it was delivered by an older gentleman (who I also have photo of) who knocked at the door. I specifically noted to leave the order at the door because I was in the middle of working. After realizing he wasn't leaving, I went to the door to grab my food. I got to the door and he started mumbling about something I couldn't really make out and once realizing someone else lived there, quickly started to leave. Unsure if wanted to ask for a tip, a signature, or something else but it was all just odd as I didn't ask him to hand deliver it in the first place.
And for the worst part of the experience, upon receiving the sandwich, there was a pen scribbled note tapped to one of them stating verbatim: "Jarred ^from Westport Ballard made this LOL. This sandwich is bull ash (as hell) LOL".
The order confirmation specified my order was coming from store JJ0874 which is the S Hurstbourne Pkwy. So I'm not sure why the note referenced an employee from the Westport location. I will be leaving this review at both locations to be clear, because this behavior is unacceptable for either location. Please do not write weird notes and attach them to my food. (I didn't end up eating it after seeing this because ew, weird.) Grow up. My food was ordered the way it was for a reason? And it was still wrong in the end. So to whoever Jarred and/or his associate is: First, learn to comprehend orders please. Second, what you did was also very childish and creepy. If the intention was to be "funny", it did not come off that way. I couldn't care less of what you think of the order itself, but I'm more concerned of what may or may not have happened in the process of making my order because of it.
If I had the energy, I'd call and make a formal complaint to the store, but being in the service industry myself, I know with service like that, places and people like them will eventually crumble on their own. I'll save myself the trouble and leave a warning to others who...
Read moreI ordered online at 8:49 pm for delivery and was notified that the order was out for delivery at 8:55 pm. By 9:30, I had not yet received my order, so I pulled up the app and checked the tracker. It was marked as delivered. So I called the store, and politely stated that I had not received my order and that the app was showing it as delivered.
The person I spoke to said he delivered it to my apartment. I told him once again that I did not receive it. He said “We don’t go past the door. We leave it and go,” and abruptly put the manager on the phone. The manager was needlessly rude and aggressive. “Look man, it was delivered. If it’s not there, it’s not our problem and there’s nothing I can do.”
His logic was that because the driver knew my address, it was certainly delivered to the correct building and correct apartment. I assured him that it was not, that I had been sitting roughly 20 feet from my front door on my couch in silence while I read and never heard a knock.
He finally venomously offered to refund my food and hung up.
I walked around my apartment complex and found my food sitting in front of the door of an apartment in a different building, verified by the address and name on the receipt (which were correct). I called back to inform them that it was indeed delivered to the wrong address, just hoping for an apology for being made to feel like a liar, and all I got was an angry “Okay,” followed by him immediately hanging up on me.
I am incensed that I was demeaned and degraded for a mistake that I didn’t even make, and then didn’t even get an apology for it. I wasn’t even trying to get anything out of it. I quite literally just wanted my food because I was hungry.
I have worked in the food industry before, and I know how entitled some customers can be, but when someone politely calls to report that their delivery wasn’t delivered, verbally attacking the customer and insinuating that he or she is being dishonest is...
Read morePlaced order online for pickup in store mid Sunday during normal business hours. Store was open and lights on with open sign on. Got to drive thru and just sat there. We sat and sat. No response, no signs on speaker, on window, nothing. It was trashed beyond belief in the kitchen area from what could be seen. Make our way to the other side a d entrance, 3 young guys all sitting outside at a table smoking in full attire not attempting to tell us what is going on or anything. My husband went to go in the door and one of the boys got up in a confrontational manner to tell him that they are not serving food. When my husband explains that the order was placed online as well as already paid for, he again got the same reply. When I began to ask questions, he added that the system was down. I showed him my bank account to prove that it wasnt down but indeed actively charging me $50 for our large order. He told me that there was nothing that he could do nor transfer order to a different location near or far. he then began to assure and school me on the nature of the bank and operations. Keep in mind we are mid 40s with numerous business accounts and personal accounts. He looked at best 17. I told him that is not how it works and got his name just in case I had further issues.....which I did. My bank had to hold and fight to not be charged twice for the purchased food due to having to take our order to another location and pay for it AGAIN. I talked with corporate jimmy John's and eventually the money showed back in my account along with an apology and no reason for that store not being online to fulfill my order...... I don't know what else needs to...
