My friends decided that my lack of want to celebrate my birthday was abnormal. So on the 15th day of the month of December, my friend decided to take me out to dinner at the restaurant Murphy’s Tap House. I came to the restaurant with no expectations due to the fact that I had not been informed whatsoever of what the place was. The first thing I noticed was the brightly lit sign that was positioned above the door of the establishment. The parking lot was well maintained and spaced for a sit-down establishment. We exited the car and proceeded to enter the establishment. Upon first impression, the place felt like it was crowded in the middle of the restaurant. But upon further inspection it was more well spaced and welcoming on the outer edges of the restaurant. We watched as families and couples of varying party sizes entered the establishment. This was how the night began. So after waiting for only about 5 to 10 minutes, the wait staff approached. They were very calm and welcoming. This made for an immediately appreciative start to the restaurant experience. We let them seat another couple who came in before us, and they were gone and back in less than 2 minutes. We proceeded to inform them that we had a reservation under, friend's name. They proceeded to ask us what part of the restaurant we would prefer to sit at. We stated that we would like to sit in an area that was quieter than the middle of the store. They proceeded to lead us to the right of the door to a booth in a quieter area. Their consideration for our request was something that improved our perception of the restaurant immediately. Once seated, they proceeded to ask us our drink preferences. I then asked them about their selection of wines and liqueurs, and the waitress showed great knowledge of the selections. They even gave recommendations on what to pair each wine with on their menu. Even though it took 12 mins for them to get the wine to my table, I was quite pleased with the taste. I shall now proceed to describe the menu and ordering process. So we began to discuss at the table the foods of which we might order. The menu was well-structured in an ala carte style. We asked the waitress about the allergens in the foods, and she was able to give us a detailed list of the different allergens to be on the lookout for in different dishes. I went ahead and ordered a seafood dish. This dish was so well seasoned that I literally shed a tear while eating it. Plus the wine that was recommended for pairing was amazingly subtly enhancing the flavor of the dish. This made for the perfect way to lead into the middle of the dinner. Following this, we ordered our desserts. I personally ordered some sort of oreo dessert. The rest of the table ordered different milk dishes. When I found out someone at the table had a milk allergy, I asked the waitress; they quickly responded with what foods carry allergens. This was a massive improvement to the overall experience. In conclusion, I went to the restaurant Murphy’s Tap House to celebrate my birthday. We experienced a truly warm welcome. The food there was exceptional. As well as the staff was knowledgeable. If you are looking for a place to eat in the Broomfield area, go eat at Murphy’s Tap...
Read moreMet up with some friends here for dinner when we were staying the night in Louisville on a trip to San Diego.
Really love the vibe of this place! The outdoor seating was just too aesthetic. All those lights and such a good vibe overall.
The couple we were having dinner with took a while to get there and the server was checking in on us until they came. But after that, she never showed up for the longest time. I actually had to go and call her to take our order. Service was quick after that.
I ordered the Country Fried Chicken but with Grilled Chicken instead. It came with bacon, white gravy and seasonal vegetables. I asked to swap out the mashed potatoes for some asparagus instead. To be honest I was not a fan of this meal. Chicken was cooked well so that was good. Even that broccoli and carrot thing going on in the seasonal vegetables was good. The asparagus was just so so - little too oily for me. The bacon white gravy was a little bit of a disappointment. I was really expecting some good flavor but it was very bland.
My fiance got the Lamb Goat Cheese Burger (lamb patty topped with goat cheese, arugula and honey), with the side salad. The dressing on his salad was amazing! As for that burger... So so good! I tried a bite and oh man.. Everything went so well together! He definitely loved this meal.
The couple we ate with.. They both got the Baja Fish Tacos (Grilled fish in masa tortillas with baja honey-lime slaw, avocado and pico de gallo drizzled with garlic-lime crema). Let's just see they finish the food in under 5 minutes. They both literally devoured their plates! A very good sign because those tacos looked amazing and there was a lot of...
Read moreUpon arrival, we were seated very quickly... Once someone came back to the host stand which did take several minutes. Things continued to get worse. My son and I ordered Coke. We got Diet Coke. Once our drinks were replaced, they still tasted like diet so I ordered Dr Pepper. We placed our food order and waited 57:13 minutes to receive it. I started a timer bc I had a feeling. Our server never checked on us under her own accord... it was only when we flagged her down. We asked her about the status of our order after approximately 35 minutes. She checked and came back with a "guess" that it would be another 20. She came back again and said she asked the cooks to bump up our order so it would be just 10 more minutes. The reality -- it took 22 more minutes. Once our food arrived, it looked correct but upon further inspection, it was not. I ordered a Classic Ruben wo sauerkraut. My sandwich came with barely any meat, SCRAPED off sauerkraut and no Russian dreasing. After tiring of waiting, my husband refilled his own water glass with the pitcher that happened to be by our table.
The server was nice enough but didn't show any real remorse about our poor experience. She wasn't reading the room. After we finished our food, she asked if we wanted a dessert menu. Ummm... No. To that she said, "Awesome!" and walked away.
When our bill arrived, the Ruben sandwich was comped which was the right thing to do bc $16 for two pieces of marble rye bread...
