My husband and I went here for our date tonight. An older white man with grey hair opened the door for us, but didn’t say anything. No one was in the front to greet us. There wasn’t signage in the front in what looked like a hostess area. A few employees walked past. I finally see the sign at the pizza that says order at the bar. We walk up to a cash register at the bar. Two bartenders walk by us several times and no one greets us. At this point we look around for clues because we are obviously doing something wrong. People coming in after us were being served at the other end of the bar.
My husband ordered and paid for Maker’s Mark. Afterwards the bartender remembered that they sold out of Maker’s the previous night, and offered my husband well bourbon; not a refund. My husband ended up with Jim Beam which just isn’t the same.
At this point the echoing of the bar area is overwhelming. It is a large open room and a live band is playing on top of regular restaurant noise in an empty grocery store. I put it in noise cancelling AirPods to help the din. We ordered our food and drinks and found a seat in the less noisy area in the front.
The place was clean and beautiful. There were fun things like corn hole on the front lawn so kids don’t have to stay seated. I loved that!
Our food came out quickly. We ordered the focaccia and whipped feta; and OMG the bread was delicious. The whipped feta was disappointing. We had cheese sticks and a cheese pizza. The marinara was good, but just a plain marinara. The cheese sticks were bland. The pizza was so oily that I couldn’t swallow it. I really had to use my napkin.
Unfortunately, we were not provided with silverware, plates, or napkins when we ordered or when our food arrived. My husband had to go get them.
Overall, it was pretty, but I...
Read moreThis is our favorite brewery in Louisville. It has amazing pizza and a rotation of beers that are always fun. Some of my favorite beers in Louisville have been from Noble Funk and I like that they have simple classics mixed with some more fun and exotic stuff. They had one beer that was sticky toffee pudding or something like that and I LOVED it (unfortunately I think it's gone but I'm sure they have great stuff replacing it). Our favorite pizza is the date nite but so far all the pizzas we've tried have been good. The place is super big and seating has tons of variety so you can easily find what you are looking for as far as atmosphere goes. It's also one of the most kid friendly places we've been to as far as breweries go. Since it's so large it's easy to find a place where you can hang out and your kids can walk around a little bit and not disturb other people. We've been several times and there's been 4 or 5 kids but you wouldn't even know it the way the seating is arranged. Makes for great private atmosphere which can be difficult at breweries. During the warmer months they have awesome outdoor atmosphere that also lends itself for being kid friendly as they can run around on the astroturf or play corn hole while the parents chat at the outside tables. My only complaint is that the service has historically been hit or miss. Our servers have been pretty apathetic about being quick and multiple times have brought food with no utensils. Once we asked for some and they told us they were up at the front (basically refusing to get it for us). We like all the other things about it so much we still go here a lot but if they could get the service down it would...
Read moreI actually ran across this place on a reddit thread when I searched "Places to eat in Louisville that has entertainment for kids and adults can drink" I did not want to suffer through Chuck E Cheese nor did I want to spend Dave and Busters money. Google search actually did not populate this as an option so I was grateful for the reddit users! Anyways, we made it here around 2:30pm. I called to see if they had a parking lot or if I had to park on the street. I was excited to find that they had a huge parking lot in front!! The decor outside made me think of Alice in Wonderland with the rabbits and greenery landscaped. They had a ping pong table and a putt putt as well. Once entering, it was like entering into a lush green wilderness. Succulents, and moss everywhere! The drinks were phenomenal! I got a flight of sours and fruity beer and we ordered an appetizer (cheese bread), our main meal was pepperoni pizza for the kiddo, I got a meat calzone, and my sister got a tuscan chicken pizza. Oh, and I got a salad. Have to be healthy of course 😜 all in all, this was a great place to eat and enjoy. From the esthetic, to the food, to the drinks, all...
