Tartan House — Restaurant in Louisville

One and done. How many times have you said that and ended up staying for another (or two)?? Well, unfortunately for the gal behind the the bar that’s what we did. Zero conversation and really wasn’t interested in serving us “tourist” another. She did the bare minimum to have anything to do with us. She was more worried about running our card (before we even got our drink) and then did some dishes before serving us the drinks we ordered. When we ordered the kettle chips she looked at us like we should know they come in a bag and we have to pick a flavor. The entire experience was not so great. We did have a good conversation with other patrons who walked in and the other employee working behind the bar. $40 & some change for two cocktails and a bag of chips, I would think you would treat customers better than that. You know those bars where you walk in and immediately think, "Oh, this is the spot?" Yeah, that’s Tartan House. From the moment you step inside, you just know your night is about to level up. ✨

The cocktails?? Unreal. 🍸 Like, sip once, immediately question every basic drink you’ve ever had kind of unreal. The bartenders? Straight-up artists. They craft drinks so good, it’s almost rude how effortlessly cool they make it look.

And the vibe?? Chef’s kiss. 👌 It’s giving classy but not pretentious, cozy but still a little mysterious—basically, the kind of place where you could have a deep life talk or plot world domination, depending on the drink. 😏🔥

Final thoughts: If you haven’t been to Tartan House yet, fix that immediately. This isn’t just a bar, it’s a whole experience. Your taste buds...

Update 12/23/23: We had great service today! The bartender was really friendly and she even suggested drinks to us based on our personal taste. We had some friends visiting and wanted to give tartan house another try, they did not disappoint. This will definitely be on our short list of places to frequent.

The cocktails were good and the music was a vibe. Our group tried 10 different cocktails from the menu and we enjoyed them all, the flavors were well-balanced and not too sweet. However, the service left a lot to be desired. The bartender was uninterested in being there and any questions about the cocktail menu were met with a dismissive attitude.
