(Zero star review) I've never left a bad review for any restaurant I've ever been in whose service was not favorable but the quality of service my 9 year old daughter and I received tonight was hands down the worst I can recall ever having. I really hate to leave this type of review because we absolutely love eating at the other Doug's locations and we have been for years.
I just recently discovered their newest location off of 29th in Loveland a week or so ago and wanted to stop by for dinner with my daughter. It was 7 and they closed at 8 so I figured we would be able to get in and out by then it being just the 2 of us and there being maybe 2 tables dining at the time. We walked in and were sat down with menus and another guy came to take our drink order shortly thereafter. He brought us our drinks and never came back. Looking at the bar there were customers who were coming in after we did and were getting drinks, which is fine. However, he just kept serving the customers at the bar, looked in our direction twice and kept serving and refilling and chatting. There was one customer at the bar who noticed my daughter and I had not been helped yet and told the person she was with and even made eye contact with me but that was it.
We waited 20 minutes without one person coming over. We ended up flagging the guy who sat us who was also waiting on one of the other tables (they actually had food) and asked for a to-go cup for my daughter's drink so we could pay for our drinks and leave. He apologized, said he would pay for our soda and iced tea, we left and will never go back.
My mind is still blown at how bad the service was. It seemed as though our waiter was tending to the bar over us just for the tips. Ended up just going across the street to get her some 7-11 nachos because we didn't have time to go to another restaurant. It's sad how my 9 year old noticed we hadn't placed our order yet and the waiter kept serving new people. She even asked why he wasn't helping us and tried to raise her hand to get his...
Read moreSo sad. Came here for the first time since they opened. We ( friend and I ) talked about going downtown but for some reason we decided to give the new one a try. I wasn't sure what to get, and she ( our server ) let me sample the soup. It was good but to many carbs for my diet this week. The manager actually happened to be our server. She was lovely, but seemed to be really focused on many things at once. It took longer than normal for our food to come and when it did the fries were luke warm and soggy, dripping with oil. We told our server and she apologized and immediately request new ones from the kitchen. As we waited I cut into my hamburger which was pretty well done on the outside and raw on the inside. It was gross. When the server brought our fries back she glanced down at my plate and saw the raw hamburger. She sat down next to me and seemed very frustrated. She apologized numerous times and offered something else. I said I was fine with my salad and she Insisted on comping our meals. As a small business owner and reading these reviews my opinion is that the owner needs to be there and either training the cooks or finding new ones. I was greatly appreciative of the manger but she needs help. Ownership...

The food for the most part was good but my wife’s sandwich was missing both the pesto and ranch that was supposed to be on it, easy enough fix, but the chicken beast that she got was hit or miss. The breast was a weird cut as it was thick and thin throughout so some parts (thick) were good and some (thin) were really dry. I got the turkey club which was good but I would suggest toasting the bread. I don't think I’ve ever had a club where there wasn’t at least a light roast to the bread. The bread got a bit soft, mushy, and stuck to the top of my mouth. I only ate half while I was there and took the other half home, toasted the bread and it was much better. So maybe give people an option to have it toasted? Everyone was really nice, most of the servers seem really young and inexperienced, but hey that’s how you learn, they’ll get there. I’ve been to other “day diners” and to be honest the inside doesn’t give off vibes of diner. I think it will be tough in that space due to how open it is. I know it just opened any maybe things will change a bit but possibly some booths and a bit more decoration around the place will help with transforming it...
