Very dissapointed with food and most of all service of the women who said is the new owner. My family has loved this place and food was always so good until now. They seen to have some issues in the kitchen with putting out fresh cooked food. We had a horrible experience after ordering the fried tilapia. It was dark and soaked in the oil it was fried in. It absorbed so much of the oil it was hardly edible. It tasted like all the other good fried along with it and we made a complaint to the waitress when she finally came to check on us. They disregardered there was anything wrong with the fish, despite pressing in the fish and a whole bunch of additional old piling up on it. The person went in back and told the cook about the issue and we could here them mention all the other complains from customers through the week about food including raw chicken. She the waitress came back she ignored the entire thing passing us a hefty bill. The other food we ordered, that was not fried was fine but we would of appreciated our order being fixed and they didn’t even offer to. That night we got such and threw up all the fish and oil so I went the next day to mortify them. The owner ignored the claim and said she didn’t think there was anything wrong with the fried fish, exclaiming they were busy and it was the end of the night and the fish probably didn’t get strained from the oil enough. I asked for a refund of just the bad fish and she said they get many complaints and they cannot refund all of them or they wouldn’t make any money. That says enough about this owner in my book enough to never go back again. It’s too bad because they had very good food in past. Wether it’s the new owner or new manager or a new cook this is unacceptable. They lost a good customer over a few bucks and I’ll be telling others so when they get bad food or service it...
Read moreI'm not an expert on colombian cusine (im dominican), but I can say the food is delicious. If you're a general fanatic about latin/hispanic foods, or even if you want to get your foot in the door to these types of dishes, you'll enjoy the taste of these platters. At first glance, the restaurant might seem unassuming, but it is cozy inside, it has a comforting feel and all the staff just add on to the welcoming feel of it all. The new owner herself is also very kind and likes to step in to greet guests. I ordered the empanadas as an entry dish and it came with hot sauce, a cool surprise. For my main meal I ordered a steak (punta de anca) and I'm not going to lie I could not eat all of it: it came with tostones, french fries, pico de gallo, beans, and rice. I was happy to take the rest for take out though (my favorite leftovers). So hey its a plate to share! Some tips for english speaking guests!: the main staff is more comfortable speaking in spanishs but they do understand general english, so don't be afraid if your spanish isn't on point. However, the owner is fluent in spanish and english! -The menu is written in english, of course with the general spanish names for the dishes. Overall, this is a humble restaurant that certainly deserves some...
Read moreTook my aunt here for Mother’s Day and it was a terrible idea! The server was terrible & made us never want to go back! & it wasn’t even busy by the time we arrived there! I don’t see why or how he could mess up BOTH of our orders when he had a pen and paper in his hands writing everything down! I specifically told him NO RED MEAT for me and yet he still brought my plate out with a sausage and pork belly. It was disgusting. My aunt asked for sweet plantains but she received French fries instead. Terrible customer service not welcoming at all. My aunt didn’t even complain all she asked for was for some ketchup for the French fries she didn’t even order and they couldn’t even do that for her! They never brought her some ketchup!! What kind of restaurant business is this? We will not be returning or recommending to any of our friends and family members. We will be bringing our business to Panela Restaurant & Bar in...
