What an absolute gem! I found this place after googling good ribs in the area to celebrate my birthday, hadn't heard of it until then. What an amazing place! The hospitality hits you right away - you walk in and are immediately made to feel welcome. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. And the food? I've had a lot of barbecue in my lifetime across the US - this place is way up on the list, easily the best in the Harrisburg area. The ribs were absolutely perfect - juicy, tender, and flavorful. The meat fell right off the bone. The brisket was pretty good - just the way brisket should be. The sides? OH MY GOODNESS, the sides! I tried the Mac-n-Cheese, was creamy and flavorful. The street corn was simply amazing - each bite was an explosion of different flavors in your mouth. My son got the brisket nachos, it was a skyscraper of goodness - he says the best he's ever had. Two other kids got smashburgers, which they said were juicy and flavorful. The home-made pickles were crisp and delicious. And to celebrate my birthday properly, I tried the banana pudding - I fashion myself somewhat of a banana pudding afficionado since the days of toddlerhood... this was the best banana pudding ever. So creamy and amazing. The ambience was perfect - lots for the kids to do, with cornhole, board games, giant Jenga, and little table-top cornhole boards. The attention to detail was fantastic - from the hilarious artwork in the bathrooms to the little placards on the table inviting people to socialize with others (with helpful icebreaker questions). We didn't ever want to leave! They even took our group photo with the pig statue on a Polaroid to hang on the wall. We will absolutely be...
Read moreGuy Fieri and Anthony Bourdain (RIP) eat your heart out. Words cannot do justice to the intense flavors and homemade heartiness of this BBQ. You would think Mike and Erin secretly joined a BBQ Monastery to learn this witchcraft of excellence. Guys, I'm not kidding...best collard greens I've had since I lived in Georgia. I ate three bowls before I got to the brisket. The brisket, tender as a whispered promise, melts against your palate like a savory symphony and makes your heart skip a beat (not from the triglyceride spike).
This place isn't just BBQ, it's a hickory-scented ode to meaty magnificence. The pulled pork? It's so tender, they practically apologize for being delicious. And the brisket? It's proof that patience pays off in perfectly smoked dividends.
Did you know that Mike makes the sauces from scratch? I wanted to buy the "Liquid Gold" sauce right then and there by the gallon. An IV hookup would've saved us all time. Whether you're a sauce aficionado or a dry rub purist, prepare for a flavor journey that'll make your taste buds high-five each other.
At Get Smok'd, they've mastered the art of turning hunks of meat into moments of pure joy.
Best of all, Erin and Mike put some real intentional thought into the restaurant. There's cornhole, massive Jenga, and Connect Four. After I was done playing I even let the kids try some of the games.
We'll be back. Go visit. You'll...
Read moreCame here after 8yo son's basketball game in New Cumberland, another family joined us.
It was a pleasant and clean atmosphere with a friendly staff.
The owner was so friendly and informative, it was refreshing to not feel like a burden or be pushed through.
We ordered Brisket tacos, Loaded nachos, street corn, baked beans, Mac and cheese and the happy wife dessert special. I can't remember everything our friends ordered, but no one left hungry or undersatisfied.
All portions were massive, and delicious, his sauces were out of this world.
The owner even heard my wife debating over the Smoked Turkey Rachel (but ended up ordering something else), and he still made us one for the table to try... Incredible.
At the end of the day, we will be back again and again in the future, instant top 5 favorite place in HBG area.
I'll be recommending this place to every person I know.
PS- brisket tacos literally haven't left my mind since I ate them, the poblano sauce on them is the goat... Also, the street corn...
