UPDATE: Just out of principle, I decided to file a feedback form on the McDonalds' website, which has made me even more furious. They closed my case because it had been open without activity for 48 hours, even though I was told to wait at least 72 hours for someone to contact me (which never happened). The only way to file a complaint is through corporate, which then claims they can only forward it on to the local franchise themselves. This means there is no accountability on either end and your concerns fall into a black hole. Despite multiple emails from corporate promising me I would hear back from the franchise owner, it's been nothing but silence. It's not about the $35 and the fact that we waited forever to be treated rudely and food that made us sick, it's the principle of the whole thing.
ORIGINAL POST: Placed an order via mobile app at 7:16 PM. It was not very busy but we sat for 20 minutes with no food. During that time I saw three employees yelling at each other across the parking lot.
After 20 minutes, I went in and told the young woman behind the counter I wanted to check on my order because it had been 20 minutes and there had been no other curbside orders at all during that time. She asked to see my receipt and got annoyed when I explained it was on the app. I pulled up the receipt on the app and she quickly took a photo of it with her phone, which made no sense to me at all since the order had to be in the store computer system. I am not happy that she took a photo of my phone screen from a privacy perspective.
She then said in a very aggressive tone, "Sir, there is a lot going on here right now," and I noticed every employee I could see was yelling loudly in what may or may not have been a joking manner- it was too hard to tell and everything happened quickly. She asked me if anyone had brought our drinks; I replied very politely in a normal tone that nobody had brought us anything in 20 minutes. She got even more aggressive, yelled "I don't have to put up with this!" and stormed off. At that point another employee came over and had me explain the whole interaction. While we were talking (this was like another 10 min total), someone brought our order.
We headed home but right away my kids and I noticed our food was cold and very poorly made- my burger bun was hard and stale, and it looked like it had been made by a toddler. My son said his McNuggets didn't taste right so I told him to stop eating them. If they had been behind on orders, our food should have been hot, not cold. Even though we didn't eat much, my son and I became very ill last night with stomach issues.
I don't know what was going on, but that place is out of control. We spent hard-earned money on a meal that was 30 minutes late and made us sick....
Read moreWent through the drive-through at 9:01 AM sat until 9:18 AM and then parking space without the food that we ordered and was only given three orange juices at the drive-through window. I went in to the store asked for a refund of the $33 paid for the meals I was told by crewmember the orange juices could be kept in the car to refund the money she gave the receipt to the manager. The manager came out. The manager stated I can’t refund your drink because you had your drink but I’ll give you your money back for your meal in my eyes that sounded fair. I was understanding until she tried to refund me just $14 which is less than half of what I paid for the meals with the orange juice . I questioned what that was and then she got upset. She told me I didn’t have to be so belligerent and I need to be more patient and I simply just went in there with calm space and just stated I wanted a refund because I had to get on the road. She said she wouldn’t refund the drinks until the drinks were brought back in so I said that’s fine. Let me go do that for you. I even gave her my wallet and cards as collateral because she said she wasn’t going to refund anything until the drinks were brought back and I just wanted her to refund me the money , so as I’m walking out, I saw my receipt I go to get the drink for her she’s like never mind don’t bring the drink back in it’s fine and she tries to clean up the transaction and apologize but my thing was there was simply no apology. There was simply no care that we waited so long, but then also that there was an issue with me just being refunded the money that I paid There’s a drink upcharge whenever you buy their breakfast and you get an orange juice so my thing is why wouldn’t you just refund for the charge? Why would you try to take your you’re making it seem like a drink the orange juice for worth $6.33 so I went and got the drinks and brought them in and sat them on the counter as she requested and she still was complaining about me. Review your cameras you’ll see the encounter. The crew members were great tried to make it right and keep things flowing but the manager just simply can’t manage. Her professionalism and character is that of a...
Read moreFinally stopped in to redeem one of the 2 free value meals I supposedly received from an understanding Asst. Manager; back from when some rude employees were playing games with customers orders at the drive through one night (i.e.remain silent as if they were closed until you called out to them, cut you off and/or rush you during the order, etc... silly teen games). Upon my arrival to redeem, instead of an apology, the manager a NON-teen on duty, was VERY rude, stating to me first that "there is no book"- which is where I was told the meals I never wanted would be recorded. He then made me explain the incident again..there at the register...in front of other customers... then stated to me that the manager who helped me didn't exist (because I had trouble remembering her name). Basically implying that I'd get fully dressed, lipstick and all, to scam McD's out of $7. He said THREE TIMES that he'd give me something "within reason" before I requested the salad and unsweetened tea I came in for. I can't believe I put myself through all that humiliation for a free meal I never wanted, just because the Union Deposit McDonald's employee culture is full of rude a-holes. I will never go back there. This was the kick I needed to stay away from McD's from now on completely-- just like every other sane, healthy adult I know who has already stopped defaulting to garbage window food for sustenance. This is one of those places where they punish YOU because they work there. Pick a different...
