My wife and I have eaten at various Chuy's restaurants in the SW USA for years now. Really unusual but pleasant decor with each room having a unique eclectic design, such as the hub cap theme room, dog photo theme room, palm tree theme room etc. Excellent menu and consistent quality throughout all locations. The Elvis Fried Chicken, Boom Boom Enchiladas and Chicken Fajitas are all my personal favorites. All meals are prepared "from scratch", using high quality ingredients and very well portioned. The only thing that is not prepared on site is the ice cream. The margaritas, lime, strawberry, raspberry and mango are all excellent as well. The margaritas are prepared using freshly squeezed limes. Each location has Happy Hour, Monday to Friday from 4 pm to 7 pm wth a "Nacho Car" in the lounge that is used for free appetizers. Please don't be cheap ... purchase a drink or two and margaritas are on special. The nacho car is the trunk of and old 50's or 60's car, converted into a steam table. Appetizers include freshly house made salsa fresca, refried beans, seasoned taco beef, cheese Queso, jalapeño peppers and house made tortilla chips. Chuy's is a MUST VISIT for my wife and I and we specifically search for locations when we travel and we will go out of our way to eat at one. The servers do and excellent job but a lot of people are unaware that they get paid a very low hourly wage (e.g. $2.13 per hour in Texas) ... so they work for and live off of their tips ... they serve you well so tip them well in return.

The food was really good! Service was interesting. Our server was new, so we give grace for that. Manager made a strange comment to us after going out of their way to verify our drink order, thinking new server misunderstood (they did not). We wanted virgin, spicy margaritas on the rocks. She came to tell us blender was broken (no blender needed for on the rocks). Then, shared they had asked server if it was kids ordering and laughed. We had to clarify, server was correct that we ordered alcohol-free. We were a bit stunned the manager would so flippantly assume that all adults want alcohol. Awkward to say the least. I will say-our virgin margaritas were delicious! Very strange to us that no regular bottle of hot sauce is available, and, their custom sauces tasted more like an enchilada sauce, not an addition to a taco. The biggest issue was the lack of bussing tables. A large party had clearly enjoyed the patio before us, and every single dish, old food, beverages, sat there for the near two hours we were having lunch. Not very appetizing. One of the cups tipped in the wind at one point, and we just sat there listening to drink spill. Felt lazy and unclean. We were almost sat at a table that clearly hadn’t been wiped, and then still needed to request that the new table we chose receive a clean cloth to it. Lastly, we found their religious prayers printed on silverware bag odd.

For starters this is my first review I have ever left in the 2.5 decades I’ve been around, so that’s how you know I had a bad experience.

Food was mid at best. For some reason they put the queso on the bottom of the chimichangas so it’s all dry even after scooping the minuscule amount of queso on top.

Oh and I totally forgot to mention the incompetent staff who stole my girlfriend’s purse. While she may have forgotten at the restaurant; the staff screwed us around by claiming there was no purse or wallet. They don’t even have inside cameras (how safe of them) The following day she receives a call saying they found a wallet on the floor but no purse (how odd indeed you may be thinking).

She then goes to Chuys , only to find out that they gave it away to someone with the exact same name but didn’t even bother to check the ID picture, so how would they know it’s the same name (incompetence, lazy, or thieves I guess that is for the reader to decide).

The following day she receives a call saying that they do in fact have her wallet, but still no purse. Now you may be wondering how that’s possible. Why would a thief steal a purse but no wallet? I guess the thief has a modicum of decency to leave the wallet but still the disgusting morals to take something that isn’t theirs.

Now dear reader while there is humor in this review, make no mistake, everything is true. This location has incompetent staff, thieves and liars in their midst.

Do not waste your time, money, and digestive juices on this mediocre excuse for a restaurant. Be a true American and keep your money in the community by eating at a local restaurant.

Chuys if you are reading this, for God’s sake get inside cameras and teach your staff to be honest and not steal from...

Wait time was not long even thi the host said it was a 30 min wait. We got sat within 15 minutes. But service was the worst. Our waitress took at least 15mins to order our drinks and put chips down. We ordered our queso and food right then and there. We finished the 1st basket of chips. Still no queso and no waitress. Probably about a good 20 mins or so later our waitress walks by were im able to stop her to ask for my chips and see where our queso was at and she informs she she was in the restroom and the kitchen is backed up. She returned within 5mins with our queso and didnt bother to fill my son's drink. Just walked away before i can even ask. So waited on her again to return for me to ask her. Now the family next to us was sat down maybe a good 5 to 10 mins after us. They had the same issues sorta with another server. But when it was brought to the servers attention she was very attentive. Checking on them, refilling their chips and drinks. They even got there food before us. They were a family of 4 and we are 3. We ordered a simpled family combo fajita and a cheeseburger and fries for my son. 5mins after the people got served I asked for a manager. Who was very kind and understanding. We did not eat our food nor received it. We offered to pay for the drinks and queso but he declined and said he was sorry and would take care of it. I just honestly don't think I would...
