Spent an evening (July 17th) here trying a few brews. Planning another Lake Michigan Circle tour trip but will leave this place off the list of stopping again. They are struggling with finding great people to join their team. I get that. A large amount of businesses are suffering from the same challenges. But try holding meetings with your team prior to opening for the day to get a feel where you might need to adjust employee positions for the day, maybe the attitude from "RICHARD" will be better. No offense to the good Richards out there, I'm trying to not use the 5 letter male anatomy for this particular young, tall, dark, and handsome man. And that's all he was. A piece to observe. Had the personality less than that of Elmer's glue. Shouldn't be serving guests hungry from a two hour long motorcycle run. Waiting is okay with me as long as you are friendly, have some kind of courtesy to your customers, and can actually serve people instead of filling crowlers. I know it's not your name. But you were the epitome of the Biggest RICHARD I have ever met in front of the tapper. Dude, if you don't want to do that job, being basically the starting pitcher for your team on a busy night, then Go do what you want to do. Stop being angry inside. The rest of the night was so much better away from your obscene visual self. If there was a next time, I'd throw the coaster back at you like you treated your delivery to us. You never came back to ask if the sample we picked was okay. Or if we wanted to just get a generic full beer. Nuff said. The food was great. The young lady serving us was doing her best and we could feel that without a comment. We hope we made her feel a bit more relaxed. She was doing an outstanding job that busy night. The host was also doing her best to get people seated. Good job with that being short...
Read moreCame here to meet an online buddy for the first time.
Both of us instantly noticed how ragingly loud the dining room is: concrete floors, metal ceiling with no acoustic panels, hard walls with no panels, two very distant, cheap PA speakers filling this warehouse with music (or the echoey aftermath of music).
Only 8-10 people were in that room, including staff, and it was STILL incredibly noisy. I was shocked that a place designed as a giant, high-ceiling hard box had no sound absorbing panels or spray treatments; that's nuts!
Avoiding the noisy chaos, we sat outside with the dog people. Gratefully the dogs were well-behaved. It would be a real nightmare otherwise!
I had the pork tacos which sounded better than they were... Served with 5 small tortillas and there was enough pork for 3-4 small tacos, but toppings (pico, sour cream, guac, cheese) were served in those tiny 2-oz sauce cups and there was about the same amount of onion. Enough of each topping for about 2 small tacos. The pork was tender but it was also boring (either long-smoked pork or taco-seasoned pork would be much better).
Our very young waitress was overwhelmed and so was the host. Both seemed perfectly competent, so I think the place was badly understaffed and/or just mismanaged.
If you want a reasonably-priced beer or two and a reasonably-priced meal, this is a decent place. Probably a GREAT place if you're getting wasted with drinking buddies. But if you have poor hearing, noise sensitivity, dog allergies, or if you want somewhere to enjoy a...
Read moreMy husband and I went to dinner (for our Anniversary) recently. We hadn't been to LBBC for quite some time (months? a year?). First thing I noticed is that the menu hadn't changed in a long time. I mentioned this to my husband and he remarked that they probably are more focused on their brewing than their food. When we walked in we saw that the soup with Lobster Bisque, which sounded delicious. I asked our server about it and was told that they don't have it anymore and that their soup now was Pickle Chowder. After reviewing the menu, my husband ordered the pork tacos and I ordered the Wagyu steak AND a cup of the soup (our daughter in law loves pickles so I thought I'd try it so I could tell her about it). The soup came first and surprisingly it was good! Yes, it tasted like pickle, but it wasn't overwhelming. My husband also thought it was good. When our meals came it was immediately obvious that the wagyu steak was overcooked. I asked for medium-well and it was medium. But I kept it because it was wagyu and should still be good. It wasn't. It was dry and tough. Very disappointing. My husband said his taco were ok. Just what we wanted for our anniversary dinner. So, in the end, the Pickle Chowder was the best part of our meal. If LBBC is going to focus on their brewing more than their food, maybe they should just...
