We got there before the lunch rush & were seated quickly. Server was nice, but not attentive. The good: The Osumashi soup was heavenly. Warm & seasoning was perfect. Goyza was cooked excellent, but no dipping sauce was provided. California rolls was the only edible sushi. Good flavor. The bad: beef teriyaki bento box. I thought the fruit was pineapple, but it tasted like a sweet mushed blob. Wasn’t even yellow anymore. More of a pale white. Does pineapple even come in that color? The teriyaki was COLD. In fact the plate was cold. So odd. The rice was room temperature & it seemed like a bottle of soy sauce was dumped on it. Not a fan of the seaweed salad. The other 2 sushi rolls were, just not yummy. We have been going to Sake for 4 years and that was the absolute worst visit. Nope. Not heading back.

For Lufkin this is probably the best place to come for Sushi. Food is good. Dumplings and salads are always great. Soups are good as well. Most of the Sushi rolls we have tried so far are good. Occasionally rolls that include raw fish have fish that is not fresh as evidenced by texture and a little extra fishy in taste. They have a large menu but allot of the rolls do not have descriptions so you can easily order without having to ask the wait staff for descriptions. But overall it is a good place to eat. I am including the menu, our appetizers, soup, salad and the Rocky II Roll and the Lufkin roll for reference.

Came in and requested sushi bar and was accommodated right away. Service was great and chefs at bar was very helpful. Waitress was very pleasant and attentive. So to the food...I ordered the Tiger Roll first and it was very fresh tasting and I received it pretty quick when all is said... after that I asked the chef for his opinion on a tempura roll...I don't know the name of it but it was fantabulous, had fried shrimp, rice, and crab with some other stuff. I will be back and hope if you're passing through or live around the area that you too will stop by and try for yourself...

I used to be a big fan of this place. Went 1x per week at least and recommended it to others. I’ll be honest and say it’s been several months since I’ve been back because the other local options such as Lia’s Kitchen in Downtown Lufkin and Tsubaki’s nearby are better. But I figured I would give them another shot today since I had to shop nearby anyway.

Never again. I placed my order ahead of time in person, telling them “I want X, Y, and Z. I will be back in 20 minutes from shopping nearby so I’d like to have it ready when I return.” I came back where I was seated and I waited....and waited....and waited.... for a solid 7 minutes. I asked finally where my food was that I ordered earlier to the same person who took my order.

It was only then when I questioned it that I was told they did not intend to make my order until I returned, even though I paid up front.

I then asked for my money back. They did the transaction. Did not offer any credit or compensation for their mishap. Watched me walk out the door without an apology.

Never again. Trust me, the food quality is MUCH better at Lia’s Kitchen in Downtown Lufkin and the people there are MUCH more...

One of the best sushi/Asian restaurants in the Angelina County area. The staff is always friendly and willing to help, always. I have never had a bad experience with staff. I've never waited long for my food at all, pretty much no matter what I order. I've tried a variety of things on the menu from the delicious chicken teriyaki to their special rainbow roll. While the fish could be a little bit more fresh, I still feel it is very high quality for this area, considering we are not terribly close to any high traffic fishing areas, the closest one being Galveston (3 hours away!) I would highly recommend going during Happy Hour, 3pm to 5pm every day. They have a variety of rolls and appetizers for either half price, or close to it. Great for when on a budget, or with friends. One of my favorite things to do is go with a bunch of friends, and we all order one thing, then share. If you are looking for a great Japanese place to eat while not trying to spend a whole lot, go to Sake Cafe. Great prices, great food, great atmosphere, and one of my favorite restaurants. Ever since I started going back in 2012, the service and food has remained the...

I’ve had a great experience, except once, every time I’ve gone. Going at lunch isn’t a good idea because there won’t be anywhere to sit... also they only have 2 high chairs/booster seats so you may be out of luck there.

The food is really good, I do not like the chicken used in the chicken fried rice dish, but beef fried rice is excellent.

I don’t really like the drinks so I’d suggest choosing tea and requesting a lemon... or choose water.

There is only one toilet per gender and the women’s bathroom is always clean.

There is a back eating area that almost looks like a storage area... you can request to eat back there if you want. It’s quiet and private.

The chefs greet certain people who walk in and say goodbye... they’ve never greeted or told me bye... they seem to target certain customers... I tip and pay... but I may not “look” like I need to be greeted to come back ??

Anyway... food is...
