Just NO! I’m so sorry to have to say this to the business owner and the employees, but y’all have to do better on cooking the food. Also, maybe watch some YouTube to see how professionals prepare the food and entertain the customers. People go to hibachi restaurants for both. Frankly, both were pretty bad. I will say, the service was fine.
PART 2 I was trying to be polite and constructive in my initial review, but based on the owner’s response, additional input is warranted. First, I have no clue as to what the owner is referring to when he/she mentioned “splitting a plate.” We never made any requests. Second, the food preparation was doused in soy sauce. The food was almost inedible. The salad was soggy and soaked in ginger dressing. I bet the salad was prepared hours before it’s served, The shrimp tasted like it was caught in a low-tide and then served to us also drenched in soy sauce. It’s been hours since we left and i STILL have the nasty taste in my mouth. Even after using mouthwash. I should have taken a picture of our finished plates, there was probably a 1/2 cup of soy sauce leftover combined. The hibachi entertainment performance was weak. He had EXCELLENT utensil skills, but he did not do most of what our kids usually expected. Dear Sir, the performance is the main reason we bring the kids to the hibachi grill. The man did the utensil maneuvers. He did a weak volcano. He tossed the egg a couple times and that’s it. No water in the kid’s mouth, no sake in the adults mouth, no corny jokes, no throwing zucchini in mouths, and no engagement with the customers. I give the guy 5 out of a 10. Finally, the restaurant cleanliness was disgusting. The bathroom was gross. I would hate for the department of health to do a pop visit, especially the kitchen. Your restaurant was that dirty.
And to think, I...
Read moreThe Tokyo Seafood & Steak House is a casual restaurant where you're seated around a hibachi grill as you come in to eat. We we're seated at a setting for 8 people that had 2 hibachi grills back to back. Once you place your dinner entree you're offered the onion soup and salad as seen in one of the pictures. I ordered the hibachi shrimp and my daughter ordered the hibachi steak. The dinner's come with shrimp appetizer, hibachi vegetable and hibachi rice. They both tasted amazing! Aside from the hibachi dinner entrees they offer appetizers, sushi, sashimi and several special rolls. As an appetizer we ordered the Edamami (a soy bean). The entertainment of watching the cook and eating with strangers make for a great dinner experience. I have been to other hibachi restaurants and the biggest difference is that the cooks presentations were much more entertaining flipping their spatula's and so much more interaction with the customers that you forget you're eating with strangers. This is the reason I gave 4 stars and not 5.
The Tokyo Seafood & Steak House is located at 2950 S. John Reddit Dr in the Palm Center which is right off loop 287. Their Lunch hours are Mon-Sun 11:00-2:30. Dinner hours are Mon-Thurs 4:30-9:00, Fri 4:30-10:00, Sat 2:30-10:00,...

Bad food is made by chefs who are indifferent, or who are trying to be everything to everybody, who are trying to please everyone… Bad food is fake food… food that shows fear and lack of confidence in people's ability to discern or to make decisions about their lives." Let's start with the fried rice. White rice with severely burnt egg and an entire cup of soy sauce drenched over it nasty salty garbage. Let's go to the steak I ordered it rare it was so tough I couldn't eat it and again drenched in an entire cup of soy sauce. The chicken completely flavorless except for you guessed it another cup of soy sauce. Oh yeah and the vegetables cooked perfectly except for the entire cup of soy sauce dumped on them. Must be a classically trained Japanese chef. Or maybe just a guy that found at the local bar flip the spatula two or three times dump everything on the grill dumping entire quart of soy sauce on it and throw it on a plate absolute garbage so basically it's perfect for Lufkin. Y'all need to get up getting your car and leave Lufkin go eat somewhere else then come back and you'll find out what absolute garbage they serve...
