I could say that our experience with this place was okay at best. The people serving us were not mean but not very friendly either. We drove all the way over to the place for 45 minutes, only to find out that they closed at 3 pm on a saturday, and we got to the parking lot just barely before 3 pm, but by the time we got to the door they had just closed. We had to drive 45 minutes back and come back a few weeks later. We had driven back and forth twice for a total of 3 hours just to see what they had. We didn't bother to look at the hours they were open, so it was not their fault that we did that, but after all of that driving we found out that their menu was pretty disappointing. 2/3 of their stuff probably wasn't even remotely Danish. I decided to get a donut and a cupcake because they barely had anything that I could recognize as being Danish. Some of the stuff was just reshaped donuts. I've been to places where almost everything was authentically Danish except for a few American treats, but here they sell a lot of American treats and a few Danish pastries. Sure, they had some kringles and cakes, but everything else was not very Danish. Very little to none of the pastries had marzipan or cinnamon in them. If I had never been to a Danish bakery that had an actual Danish cook immigrant before, then maybe I wouldn't mind so much. I think the name was misleading, so it should just be called Kirsten's Bakery because Danish kringles and cakes aren't the only things that Danish people eat for dessert. However, it wasn't a terrible experience. It was just annoying that we drove a total of 3 hours just to find out that this so-called "Danish" bakery isn't really Danish. If you are a Danish person who knows the difference between Danish bakeries and ordinary bakeries, then I wouldn't recommend this place if you are looking for authentic Danish pastries other than...
Read moreWent in to get a Key Lime pie, one of my favorites! At $20 for the pie, I feel I can be a little critical. It was just a generic Key Lime pie, nothing fancy. Had your standard crushed graham cracker crust, standard Key Lime pie filling. Taste was average at best. Since I wasn't there to watch them make it, I am only speculating, didn't taste like it was made with Key Limes. Whip creme topping was a nice touch. I feel this is the most basics of pies which a 5th grade home ec class can easily make, way over priced IMO. I also got a chocolate filled croissant which my wife said was delicious. Friendly service but I feel over priced, even for the area...
