The Great American Bagel — Restaurant in Lyons Township

Unbelievable! We stopped by this morning TRYING to get a couple of bagels. The 3 people behind the counter couldn't even handle the 3 people in line! When we Finally got waited on, the woman asked us at least 6 TIMES what our order was and couldn't even get it right!!! Just a Major language barrier here... Ridiculous! After she asked us what our order was for about the sixth time, we finally just gave up and walked out after a good 15 minutes of this nonsense. At that point, we knew she was just going to screw up our order no matter what... Meanwhile, the other people there were obviously just as frustrated with the wait, and another person was complaining that their order was wrong... If you like Great American Bagel, do yourself a huge favor and head to the one on Ogden Avenue,...

I typically love the Great American Bagel. I am not trying to be an difficult but they refuse to give enough cream cheese on a bagel, they spread it like its butter no matter how many times I ask. I also have noticed that on the asiago bagel, the cheese is now non-existent and they charge $7.65 for one. If you own this store, check O'Hare's prices which lower. Yes, an airport is lower than Burr Ridge and much better quality. One more question. Why doesn't the staff speak English? This is still America and while I appreciate immigrants, I do think it is fair to ask for service in clear English, especially for an overpriced Bagel where it is located. Awful customer service! I ordered for delivery through Uber, the driver was told he was not allowed to open the bag to check the items, he was also told that everything was there. It wasn’t. They didn’t call to tell me they didn’t have certain things so they just put whatever they wanted in the bag. I have no idea what is here and they didn’t either. They were unwilling to fix it. They didn’t put two of the cream cheeses I ordered in the bag and they also didn’t fix it. Never ordering anything from them again. She was so rude and annoyed with me somehow that she screwed the entire order up. How do you screw up bagels? How do you not call to make sure you can change an order.
