Nectar Coffee & Eatery — Restaurant in Lyons Township

Went in, ordered my food. Mind you, she did not greet me, nor say ANYTHING to me to acknowledge my presence or that she was ready to proceed with my order. So I just started ordering. Once I finished ordering my “TO GO” order, there is a screen that appears to ask for a tip. I normally do, and do well, but from my initial experience, I decided that I would not. I sat down and answered my texts. All the while people were coming and going. People are sitting in there socializing, others are coming, ordering, and leaving. After giving it SIGNIFICANT time, I went back and ask was my order ready. At this time she’s scrambling because she realized that I had been there too long for a salad and a juice. Once she had my salad made, it took all of 5 minutes. (It was not even being prepared.) So fellow Blacks who love vegan/vegetarian meals, go some place else. Although the food is good, and I would never take away something from someone when it’s true, the atmosphere and service is questionable and in my opinion racist. I can take my 6 figure making...

The food here, is a good healthy option. However- I feel like it could be a bit more flavorful. The juices are good, but small. The coffee/lattes have potential but just not quite there.

I think they should try sourcing different espresso beans and higher quality barista milk options( Califa, or elmhurst). I make really great lattes at home so if I’m spending $8+tip on a latte it should be better than what I can make. Also maybe seasonal lattes that aren’t overly sugary would be a nice touch. I was in town for a conference and visited the Nectar Coffee & Eatery for breakfast one morning. This is a very nice little cafe. It has a great atmosphere and is nicely decorated presenting a relaxed environment for just about any kind of interaction. I ordered the peanut butter smoothie. The ingredients are milk, peanut butter and, banana. Only three ingredients and it was very excellent. A friend of mine ordered a mocha and a muffin and enjoyed both of them.
