This just isn't the same experience as any other Culver's I've been to. It is consistently worse. The Culver's in McDonough is marginally better, but all the Culver's locations I've been to outside of Georgia (up north) are so much better in terms of food and service.
The food is why you go to eat anywhere, so let's start there. Culver's for me is all about the burger. The custard is another draw but the burger is the reason I'm there. I don't want ground beef even slightly undercooked, so I get the need to cook the patties thoroughly, but at this location, they are regular burnt in the edges (at the least) and the patties are cooked down to where they are much thinner than they should be. Only two times have I had a burger here that wasn't overcooked and burnt at least on the edges. That was when I ate inside, instead of going through drive-thru. Condiments need to be fresh - crispy and fresh-tasting, not warm, wilted, and/or soggy.
Sides are generally ok, but somehow they taste different here (and at the McDonough store) than they do up north. It seems to be the very same actual items (cheese curds, etc) - maybe they use a different oil here? Or clean the oil differently?
When I do get a concrete or other custard dish, most of the time they have been made ahead and have been sitting long enough to be at least partially melted when they are finally given to me. Sometimes they are half melted or more. It's like drinking thick flavored milk. Kudos for wanting to have the items ready to go, but if you know the drive thru line is backed up and not moving fast, why let the thing sit out for 10 minutes and melt?
The other issue with the custard/concrete is the fill on it - please don't make me ask you to fill up the container properly.
Service: if you act like you are doing me a favor by even acknowledging my existence, let alone providing adequate service at a place I have chosen to patronize, this isn't going to cut it. Almost every time I have been through the drive-thru here, the employees I have dealt with have acted this way. The people at the counter seem to treat us a little better, but it is still not what I have seen at other Culver's locations.
This location needs major improvement in these areas. I have held back putting this review up, but I went there again and again faced the same issues. I'm tired of not only spending a lot of money for food and service in quick service or counter service food places in general, but Culver's and places like it are supposed to be premium options - and the prices definitely reflect that. The food and service should, too. This location is consistently the worst Culver's I have been to. I hope they do better...
Read moreThis was my 1st time in. It was not what I expected. Idk why I thought it was a sit down restaurant... but its a drive thru that has a lobby for eating in. Average sized lobby area but the day I was there a few of the open tables were dirty. Idk how often they scan tables between patrons and wipe tables/seats. They had a beverage area with drink machine...maybe 8 flavors with unsweet/sweet and peach teas. I didn't get a chance to taste the peach tea since I was eating fish that day but the sweet tea was good. You get a survey code on your receipt which I completed and got a free ice cream cone/cup. I had the cod dinner which was good, hot and the coleslaw was actually good. My companion had the deluxe butter burger meal with onion rings and he said it was really good. I did see the juice running down his hands as he ate the burger. Honestly don't think I will go back but it's only because I don't want the items they serve...but it was ok if you want burgers, hot dogs and ice...
Read moreIt was good but they don't listen to you very well when you make your order. I asked for male ketchup and mustard to be put on my son's hamburger and because they didn't put it on he refused to eat it because he's autistic. And I made it a point to say I need it on the burger they also did not put any tater same on my daughter's fish sandwich an on my fish sandwich because I asked for the addition of mayo they just left the tarter sauce off an only a teaspoon of mayo for the whole sandwich. I ordered three 1/2sweet & 1/2 unsweet teas an one was all sweet an the 2 that they did do less sweet was more like 2/3 sweet 1/3 unsweet. For a family meal that cost me $35+ I'm disappointed with employee accuracy in taking orders so the line can prepare as ordered. On the positive the fish was real fish an the batter was lovely tho did need salt an the roll was on was buttery good. That's about the only compliment I can give. All in all Im sad I spent so much to have my...
