My wife and I ate there on January 17th at 5:30 PM. Our waitress was attentive, informative and quick. She was personable and evidently a long time employee as she was real knowledgeable about the location and the place across the street. We were served in good time and the hot and sweet shrimp that I had was great. They served this with what looked to be spaghetti noodles but with a sweet Asian type dressing. The noodles were served cold and I got a double order of noodles in lieu of rice. I was stuffed when I left but I also ate a piece of my wifes chicken strips which was good as well. The waitress said that the chicken was tenderloin but it was merely sliced chicken breast. I know because the tenderloin is not that big. We had to meals, a spring roll and two glasses of tea for $38. The décor is minimalist yet comfortably cozy. There were people lines up to eat as we left. I guess that without counting I would say there were about a dozen to twenty eating spots, some were booths and some were tables for two that could be pushed together for more people. We had a party of ten that sat together. They do not serve alcohol at this time but we were told that they had plans for a bar in the future. We were pleased and I recommend it. It is hard to find though. The "street" it is on is Mulberry Street Lane. This street is actually an alley and it does not touch Mulberry Street so we had to...
Read moreCame here Saturday night before the Macon Civic Club show. Cute restaurant with delicious food.
I've never seen curry served in a soup so I was surprised by that. It was good but I didn't want soup, and the shrimp still had the tails on them. So that made me have to either pick them out of the soup with my hands or spear them with my fork to eat them. Not fun when you're dressed up to go out.
Had to ask special for fried rice which isn't on the menu, instead of the jasmine rice which we were previously told was bland. Wasn't a fan of the cold noodle salad, but you can order veggies instead. The egg drop soup which is served before the entree, was outstanding.
At the end of the meal we waited at least 10 minutes for someone to bring us our check before we finally asked for it, and were told to go to the front, where we had to give our order all over again so that they could find it. Ridiculous on a busy Saturday night.
Overall it was an OK experience but we probably...
Read moreOk this place is a treat! More of a Thai restaurant than Japanese, but not in a bad way. The food was simple, clean and elegant. The aromas had me salivating long before the food arrived. We stopped there originally from convenience as we were waiting for a show at the Hargray Capitol Theater right around the corner. However, I would go to Tokyo as a destination. Great date place! So the cold sesame noodles are authentic and addictive. The beef soup was Pho like and just right as a clear simple broth. I had both the Shumai and the Bangkok Chicken. The Shumai were fried and succulent and although the Bangkok Chicken was not a traditional style, being made with tenders instead of the traditional chicken legs, were perfect, most and didn't last long. We thought we might not have enough time to eat everything, but the service was so quick we made the show with room to spare. The owner is a treat, upbeat, knowledgeable and sweet. Thanks for making our evening a...
