My father had a heart procedure done at the hospital and we were there for over half of the day with nothing to eat so when we left my dad mentioned a Chinese restaurant that he had been to before that was pretty good so we decided (with our stomachs growling) to head there .......
Let me say this .....
I have been to many Chinese restaurants all over the world in my life but this one was definitely by far the absolute WORST one that I have EVER experienced.
The place was pretty packed in the parking lot and inside so I had figured they must be doing something right, only to walk in and sit down and find out that was not the case at all.
To start it off you walk in to no one at the front, waiting for someone to seat us.. in this time I looked around and I noticed that there were globs of dust all over the pictures, Christmas lights and air vents and that there was trash floating in their water fountain at the front door... should've been a tell tale sign.
Next we were seated by some woman who was just wearing regular clothes. No uniform or anything. She sat us in a booth that still had previous customers dirty napkins on it ...which she discarded quickly in her pocket.
The server brought us our drinks fairly quickly and I noticed that my cup was very cloudy.... At first I thought it was probably from the condensation of the sweet tea and the ice, but due to the signs I had seen already I decided to test it and when I ran my finger over the inside of my glass it smudged and smeared telling me instantly that it was not condensation but that it was dirty and not properly washed. This has probably been the third or fourth time that someone has been served this glass without it being properly washed which is absolutely disgusting đ¤˘
I asked for another glass which the next seemed somewhat cleaner but still had some not so good looking spots but with my stomach growling and me growing up poor and in the country drinking from the water hose I said screw it and hoped that would be the last of my troubles.... I was wrong.
I went to the buffet food bars and got my first plate. I got some lo mein, fried scallops, Chicken wings, general tsos chicken, butter shrimp, stuffed crab shell with imitation crab, and some fried "soulfish"
The ONLY thing on my entire plate that I had gotten that wasn't COLD was the lo mein.... Everything else was room temperature or actually cold and was so tough and old to chew that it was like eating jerky....
I couldn't quite understand this because seeing the mass amount of people inside constantly going back and forth to the bars loading their plates. I figure they have to have some kind of fresh food out there constantly which you saw people going back and forth from the kitchen replacing stuff but even after coming in around 1PM everything was tough as if it had sat there for hours upon hours.
I drowned everything in soy sauce and lemon juice. Hoping to make it better but it did not.
For my second trip to the buffet bar, I tried everything I didn't try before , The only thing else that was pretty decent was the salmon and it was just because they had literally just brought it out and sat the new tray on the bar.
The server only brought us one refill of drinks the entire time we were there and they were small glasses , I do not understand why most Chinese restaurants do not refill your drink constantly, especially when you're eating very salty foods while also using salty condiments such as soy sauce and more.
The atmosphere was very confusing and was just one of the worst experiences in Asian cuisine and I'm very shocked because this is not like any of the many that I have visited before in my life.
This was my first and my last time ever visiting this establishment. I also spoke with my wife who used to work down the road from this place and she told me years ago that it got closed down due to bad food scores and then reopened under New Management or title I can clearly see why and how that happened
I wouldn't be surprised to see it happen again in this...
Read moreThe food literally almost killed me. Luckily, I knew what to do for myself in spite of my lack of ninja skills. The large 'Chinese Dragon Statue' by the front counter was most annoying considering the seriousness of the situation and the fact that it kept screeching. It was very distracting to me trying to save myself and others who were eating...you should really do away with that. Also, not one person who worked there, including the stationary manager, offered to help, asked did I need anything, was I okay, did I need medical assistance. The only concern I was shown was that just because I'd evacuated all of my food and had a near death experience...how was I going to pay my bill. Visa, thank you. My son tried to tell her calmly how serious it was and that she should have offered help but the manager just continued to yell over him. She would NOT be quiet and listen. She can't hear if she's screaming. In my state, I was still worried about the 2 little girls who had been in the restroom with me and wanted her to please let the mother know in case her kids said anything because they looked mortified. She wouldn't even be quiet so I could choke that out. That place would be better if the employees knew how to act and had an ounce of compassion for true life threatening situations. Thankfully I received treatment and am recovering and the...
Read moreMe and my family came here to spend a nice time eating. We were a big party so I understand if automatic gratuity was gonna be added to our bill. First of all, the food selection was not that good. There was barely anything to choose from. The interior looks really outdated and almost unpleasant. The waitress did her usual rounds but the main issue came when it was time to pay the bill. When we asked for the bill, the waitress came but we noticed that her thumb was covering the tip amount. We asked to see the bill as she didn't hand it to us but just held it up for us to see. She refused and acted like she didn't understand. We had no choice but to pay the bill. Turns out that they decided to tip themselves $40 ASIDE from the automatic gratuity. They did not inform us of this and I think that's the reason why she was using her thumb to cover the tip section of the receipt. We were gonna leave a tip in cash but refused to after we realized that the waitress's actions were suspicious. I'm glad we didn't because I'm pretty sure that if we did she wouldn't have bothered to inform us that we already paid for their tip, and instead would've just quietly taken the money. Their dishonesty and greediness honestly ruined the whole experience. I do not recommend...
