Oberweis Ice Cream and Dairy Store — Restaurant in Maine Township

Ice cream is alway great! My first really bad customer service experience at any Oberweis! Had some family from out of state. By the time we ordered and had orderd about 8 items, it was 10 Pm and as soon as we sat down, waiting for the order, manager told us they would be closing shortly and can't eat-in, understood. But there were other families sitting at the other end of room waiting for the order. Then our name was called even though not all items were ready and we were told "you have to wait here for your order"!!! We waited few more minutes and went out side. The other families were allowed to sit in and finish, they were there 20 min after we walked out! I understand being busy at closing time may be difficult but expected better service from Oberweis. Every one of my friends family from out of town or out of state, I have brought them to Oberweis, can't rav enough about the quality and flavors of ice cream but this experience sets me back. Hope you improve customer service and do not discriminate against anyone...

Stopped in this afternoon with my daughter to grab a scoop. After a couple of bites she discovered a long brown hair in her ice cream. Gross. I get it it happens. They replaced it with a hairless scoop. So as we are sitting there, a group of boys come in and attempt to get a Dixie cup of water from the water dispenser, when a tattooed faced worker approached them from behind the counter grabbed the remaining cups and put them behind the counter and stated quite loudly to them “It’s a free country, not free water”. The boys looked dumbfounded, looked at each other and most of them left and went and sat outside without buying anything. One kid stayed behind and ordered something. Clearly they weren’t welcome in there or at least that’s how I took it. In my opinion, that’s no way to run a business. It put me off, I won’t be returning. We went to ice creaam shop around 10 pm. The store was empty. The lady refused to serve us as we were not wearing a face mask. So we went back and covered our nose and mouth with napkin. She still refused to serve us saying it is not an actual mask and told us it was a LAW to have a mask. Also she was very rude and told us we could have asked her from outside through the glass door to tell us that we are not allowed to come without a mask. First of all it is not a law but a state order to wear face mask in public places where you cannot maintain six feet difference. So having refuse to serve any customer for not wearing a mask is not a LAW even though the nose and mouth was covered. This is highly unprofessional and rude behavior to treat a customer.
