UPDATED FROM 3 STARS TO 4. The owner Greg really put in the effort and care to make our experience better. When he made the calzone it was perfection. Unfortunately, we decided to go on a weekend this time, and they cooked all the spinach IN the calzone instead of before, so his calzone was soggy. We give up on the calzone. We really love this place...but because of the inconsistencies with how his calzones tune out, we're going to take a break from here for now. The difference between perfection and soggyness was less than 2 weeks. Although we always order the same thing, we know its not a popular dish people order, so I guess it depends on who is in the kitchen with how it turns out. The owner genuinely cares, and I'm sure that if you order anything other than a spinach and meatball calzone, you'll really enjoy this place
UPDATED REVIEW FROM 5 STARS TO 3 STARS. This is so upsetting for us, because this restaurant is a part of our history, and both of us have incredible and fond memories of this place. But this last visit this evening I believe warranted an updated review. He always gets their spinach and meatball calzone, and it used to always be packed full of spinach and meatballs. I made the order with a manager this evening over the phone and he assured me that the calzone would be up to the standards that it used to be and would not be a chintzy amount of fillings. I've attached photos of how the calzone actually turned out...which was a few pieces of spinach and a little bit of meatball. But for the additional $5 to add those toppings, which makes that calzone just shy of $20, it was a bit if a disappointment. And what's even crazier is the side ceasar salad is $8...but the ceasar salad in the premade box is $7 and over twice the size of the $8 one! That makes no sense whatsoever! They also increased their slices of coconut cake from $6 to $8.50, as well as upped the prices on all the deserts. They used to put heart and effort into their food. I know that they were incredibly busy, but we love this place so much, and to get a promise that the calzone would be packed with the fillings, but have it be nowhere close to how I was informed that it would...we were just very disappointed. This is the third time that hes ordered this and they skimped on the ingredients. I hope that they address these issues, otherwise, one of our favorite restaurants, and longstanding family traditions of eating here will no longer be in the cards for us...which would be just heartbreaking for me. We have been coming here for years. My Nana and I used to eat downstairs all the time. Now, my hubby and I order takeout from here constantly. Now we found out that we can make our own pizzas at home with their products! YAY! We are so excited to try it! PS...they have vodka in skulls for sale right...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreEDIT to initial review!!! 5 STARSš„³š„³š„³š„³ Just wanted to do an edit of my review for Antonio's. The GM of the restaurant reached out to me and offered to make things right with the restaurant's Chipotle Shrimp Fettuccine dish and I accepted. He said I was the first person to ever call back. He also explained what had happened with the dish I ordered and how spicy it was. They corrected the amount of spice and let me tell you, IT IS SO AMAZING! It is the right amount and gives it just enough heat. The shrimp, mushrooms, sauce.... it was just perfect! I ate the whole thing this time!! They didn't charge me for my dinner this time around. They did a phenomenal job at making things right with one of their customers. I highly recommend when an establishment wants to get in touch and try to make things right, give them a call! Antonio's read my review and figured out the problem with the dish, corrected it, and made it taste so freaking good and invited me to try them again. I'm so glad I did! Mr. Gentile, thank you so much for reaching out! I truly enjoyed speaking with you and enjoyed everything I ordered! You have a very quaint marketplace and eatery. Kudos to you and your staff!ā¤ļø Wanted to get some Italian food and ordered the Smokey Chipotle shrimp with fettuccine. Do not order this dish unless you like to feel the heat from the spice and not taste the food. The waiter said it was a hot dish, and I asked how hot it burned your mouth and he said no but everyone's level of heat is different. Ours was not on the same page. I ordered milk, and even still, it didn't help. Sadly, I only had 3 bites of it. The waiter offered me dessert, so I had the spumoni.. that was good and helped take the heat out of my mouth. He didn't charge me for the dessert, but I got charged for the dinner. This dish would have been amazing if it didn't have all the excessive spice that made it unbearable for someone like myself to eat. The service was good and the atmosphere was too. We ate in the downstairs portion of the restaurant. Which was more like a cafe/bistro. Really cute place with sauces, food, and chocolates to buy. If I go back, I know what...

Che bella esperienza! My girlfriend and I had the absolute pleasure of dining at Antonio's last evening, and what a spectacular night it turned out to be. From the moment we walked through the doors, we knew we were in for something special.
We started our evening with two perfectly crafted espresso martinis - the ideal blend of Italian coffee culture and American cocktail artistry. Bravissimo to the bartender!
For our antipasto, we shared the stuffed artichoke with goat cheese wrapped in delicate prosciutto. Madonna mia, what a divine combination! The artichoke was tender and perfectly prepared, while the creamy goat cheese and salty prosciutto created a harmony that would make any nonna proud.
My amore ordered the lobster ravioli, and each bite was pure poetry. The pasta was silky and house-made, filled with succulent lobster that tasted like it came straight from the Mediterranean. For my entrƩe, I chose the special cappellini with pine nuts, sun-dried tomatoes, olive oil, and other delectable flavors that transported me straight to the hills of Tuscany. Every strand of pasta was perfectly al dente, and the sauce was a masterpiece of simplicity and elegance.
The warm Tuscan bread arrived with spiced olive oil that was absolutely incredibile - we could have made a meal of it alone! And speaking of incredible, our waiter's generosity knew no bounds when he surprised us with two complimentary glasses of red wine during dinner. Totally unnecessary but absolutely appreciated - true Italian hospitality at its finest!
We concluded our feast with tiramisu that was so light and decadent, it felt like floating on a cloud above Roma. The perfect ending to a perfect meal.
Antonio's of Maitland has captured the very essence of Italian dining - exceptional food, warm service, and an atmosphere that makes you feel like famiglia. This was more than dinner; it was an experience that will linger in our hearts long after the last bite of tiramisu.
Grazie mille, Antonio's. We'll be back soon - arrivederci for now, but not for...
