If Nicole is the hostess tonight RUN! Don’t waste your time! The hostess is the face of the business and Nicole did a very good job of ruining all of the previous good times we’ve had here. We ended up walking out. They were busy, everyone is, and we were patient and understanding. Upon arrival we were told there was a 15-20min wait. We grabbed a beer and headed upstairs, and instantly decided this is where we wanted to sit for our dinner. It was WAY warmer up there and the atmosphere was more alive. Headed downstairs and asked Nicole if we could sit upstairs. After waiting for about 45 mins we went to check how much longer the wait was. Assumed we had to wait longer because of our special request. Turns out Nicole never reconfirmed my phone number, and in return entered my phone number wrong into their app, we never got the confirmation text. She must’ve passed us five or more times, but never bothered to question why we were still waiting. We asked again to sit upstairs and she told us there was nothing available. As we wait for her to seat us, she takes a party of three upstairs to seat them right in front of us, we were a party of three. I tried to speak with a manager but they were busy, and the manager was serving tonight. I didn’t want to bother them so I told the bartender I would just try to talk to Nicole myself and see if we could correct it. Instead of an apology for her mistake or trying to correct the situation she decides to give me MAYJOR ATTITUDE, trying to say I was never on the list, the number wasn’t wrong, and she just kept going. Including to tell me that she already apologized to my brother (couldn’t apologize again?) This really didn’t correct the situation and instead added fuel to the fire. Now things had changed and I wanted the manager to come speak with us about this, even if they had tables. Instead Nicole was obviously sent down to our table in the basement to fix things. Instead she starts fighting me and is yelling at my family from across the restaurant, who does that? More headache is added. We were given a QR code to order our food online and told there wouldn’t be a server but just a food runner. There’s no cell service here, my phone was going between one and two bars, there was no way my phone could load the menu let alone allow me to order and not wait five minutes between screens loading. We let Nicole know we were leaving, but that’s when she started to make us feel welcome by shouting from across the room. Go for beers, there’s no tables needed for that. The bartenders tried to help with tastes of beer, but in the end Nicole really killed the whole name that the business has been trying to build over the years.
Go across the street to Clocktower Cellar! We were immediately greeted with a smiling busser who explained everything with kindness, and the service here has been 100x better. And my cell service is even better, not that you need it...
Read moreIt was about 4 in the afternoon when we sat down, expecting an easy pizza stop. The sun was still high, the place had that casual daytime hum, and I thought this would be a simple in-and-out. Instead, the experience started off rocky with their QR code ordering system. The menu itself was straightforward, but then came the hoops: type in your phone, your email, drop card info into a third-party site, and before a slice even hit the table, my inbox was buzzing with texts. The part that really stuck out? The app asked for tips before service even started. That’s not hospitality — that’s backwards.
Thankfully, once the food showed up, things improved. We shared two flatbread pizzas — pepperoni and BBQ chicken — both fresh, with a thin crispy crust and toppings that actually worked. The pepperoni had that nostalgic comfort, while the BBQ chicken brought a sweet-savory kick that stood out. For Boise, it felt a little elevated compared to the usual chain pie.
The bill for the two pizzas came to $42.66. Not outrageous, but for a casual 4PM bite, it lands on the higher side. Still, the flavor held its ground and kept the meal from being a total miss.
Final call: solid 3.5 stars. The pizzas deserve love, the ordering system needs a rethink. At the end of the day, I’d come back for the BBQ chicken flatbread — but I’d much rather order from a human than...

went up to the host stand and waiting to be seated. another group came up behind me to wait to be seated as well. when the host came she ignored me and seated them first. i don’t know what that was about. then while waiting, another group came and she seated them before me again. i was just one person to be seated, she took her time to seat two other groups. when she finally seated me she just pointed to an open table and told me to go sit there then scan to order. she didn’t even walk me to the table.
i ordered on my phone and staff just dropped off my beer and food. beer was fine, food was mid. not worth the price they charge. when the food runner dropped off my food she asked if i needed anything. i asked her if i could get a glass of water and she just pointed to a spout with a bunch of glasses by them and told me i can pour myself some water
what the hell am I even tipping for? i didn’t get service, i got instructions.
if you can go anywhere else to eat then do yourself a favor and skip this place. they don’t make good food, they make food that is edible. the beer is good though, i’ll...
