Perhaps there’s a disconnect from what their website says (“happy hour everyday starting at 4pm”) and what the bar staff was trained. When we came in at 4:30pm and asked what the happy hour special was, Kyle told us “$1 off draft, $1 off wells… $8 Coors + Shot” and didn’t mention anything for food. The draft board has all draft beers/kombucha/cider listed as $8, Miller or Coors was $5, and a few wines for $14. We ordered 2 draft beers and decided to hold off on food. When tabbing out we were charged full price for the beers ($16). Another man who ordered a beer (at 4:45pm) and paid immediately was also charged $8. A little frustrated by the charge after being told there was a special. The interior was what you’d expect of a basement pub. Old, cluttered interior that was dingy from age, though seemed clean enough. Service was otherwise fine. It wasn’t busy so he got our drinks immediately and mostly kept to the end of the bar until called upon. Also be warned that their credit card authorization charges $50 automatically to test the card when starting a tab—YIKES! It was refunded, but that’s a large sum and I at first thought there was a fraud charge. (Gas stations or online vendors usually do a $1 test)

Excellent service! We came in to a packed bar with no seats, got a drink from the bartender pretty quickly considering the crowd, and found a side table to set our belongings on while we waited for a spot to open up. After 2 to 3 minutes a spot at the bar and a table and opened up and we grabbed a spot at the bar. The bartender Kyler is excellent! Fast, accurate and anticipated our needs and had the next drink order in before we finished our current drinks. Fabulous service despite the crowds of people that continued to flood in!

One of the only bars in town. Couple reasons it didn’t get 5 stars from me is, there is a bar tender, redhair, she’s very rude, not friendly at all, annnnd they close extremely early. Other places in town open later. Still a fun convenient place to hang out. Downstairs under alpenhof lodge.

Got their German Reuben to-go and, while it wasn't the best reuben I've ever had, it was structurally sound and what put it over the top was the pretzel bun! Oh.my.deity...that pretzel bun! The pastrami was solid and the mustard and kraut gave it great flavor. The fries that came with it were OK, but nothing spectacular.

I wish I had the time or the energy to have stayed and checked out their superb whisky selection.

The bartenders and the those at the bar were friendly enough and I definitely dug the "neighborhood bar" vibe of this place (especially since it is located in a nice hotel). The price for the sandwich was on par with most pubfare.

Would definitely recommend checking out their 5-8pm happy hour and the...

I still like the Clocktower, but very disappointed in a change they've made. I was surprised to learn, about 5 years ago, that they served one of the best cheeseburgers in Mammoth. It as a hand made patty, made from fresh, good quality ground beef. As most restaurants, they recently raised their prices, quite significantly. The Cheeseburger went up 25%. Still, I figured I would order it. But, much to my dismay, they didn't just raise the price 25%, they also changed it to a preformed patty of average quality. I never want to order it again, it was so pedestrian. Come on restaurants, if you're going to charge top dollar, you can't give us mediocre food. I still give Clocktower 3 stars because I like the setting...
