I use to love this place - great environment, good food and good selection of drinks; however, I will never support this business again. I went recently with a friend from South Carolina and they refused to serve her. The man at the front (beard and longer hair) denied her ID, claimed it was fake by folding it, didn't have a scanner to prove otherwise and caused a whole uproar where they then threatened to call the police and wouldn't give her her ACTUAL ID BACK! The whole scenario came of as a bit racist by the end, which is never a fair and just thing. They finally complied by giving her her ID back and we left immediately and went to another place that would serve us in a respectable manner. Terrible customer service, manager wasn't present to help with anything. The man at the front then followed us OUT and told us to pay. We barely ate or drank anything but they didn't serve our party appropriately so we left. He accused us of stealing and said some demeaning things about our work - I will not specify here. They have lost some great customers, which is unfortunate because the place really had something going for themselves. If I could I would give them a big fat 0.0 star rating after...
Read more815 Cocktails & Provisions is a speakeasy that requires a password to enter. Upon entry, we were carded. After being carded, you have the option to climb a long flight of stairs or take the elevator up one story. Once you get upstairs, you have to hit the ring doorbell and the hostess asked us for the password, which was never communicated to us. Since we didn't know the password, she asked us to tell a funny joke. After telling a funny joke, we were told that the password was communicated via their social media page.
We were given the choice to sit at the bar or in the lounge area. We chose the lounge area. The high back chairs were comfy.
My friend Nick ordered I'm Reasonably Sure She's Not Faking. He liked how it was smokey tasting and had a kick to it.
I asked our server what the fruitiest cocktails were and he recommended High Fashion and Gangsters Vacation.
I decided to get High Fashion, which consisted of bourbon, lemon, and passionfruit. It was served in a green tiki drinkware with a patriotic striped paper straw, and garnished with hibiscus and mint. It was sweet and fruity in the but mid way through the drink it started...
Read moreI love this place. And I don’t even live in Manchester! I live in the Seattle area and when I visited my cousin in summer 2021, we had a lovely evening of perfect cocktails and conversation with Fritz (when he had time—this place gets busy!). Fast-forward to November and I’m planning my cousin’s birthday from 3k miles away. Naturally, my first thought was to somehow include cocktails at 815. Sarah was wonderful and super responsive to my emails. I was able to reserve the VIP section at a really reasonable rate. They also were very flexible about my getting them payment the day before because of my travel and they allowed me to store my cousin’s birthday cake (from Wild Orchid Bakery!) until we arrived later in the evening. Once there, we were greeted by Sarah and then Jake who was our funny and attentive connection to the bar. He was so nice and flexible about when to bring out the cake (even though I know we weren’t the only customers he was dealing with that night) and made the evening even more perfect. Many, many thanks to 815, Sarah, Ryan, Fritz, and Jake for a truly memorable evening (and, as ever,...
