I’ve been a fan of Stash Box since it first opened, and though their regular menu has evolved a bit, my recent visit to try their new brunch offerings exceeded all expectations. Having always been satisfied with their standard menu, I figured the brunch would be worth exploring—and it certainly was. We arrived right at opening, ensuring a relaxed atmosphere and attentive service. The friendly staff and bartenders were welcoming and set the tone for a great dining experience. I opted for a mimosa, while my friend chose a Bloody Mary. Both drinks were expertly crafted and delightful. For the main event, I decided on the breakfast smash burger, and my friend went for the short rib breakfast skillet. The smash burger came highly recommended, and it did not disappoint. It was perfectly seasoned and cooked, with a delightful egg on top and a phenomenal bun. Every bite was a testament to quality and flavor. My friend was equally impressed with their skillet, praising it as a fantastic choice. Stash Box’s brunch is a bit on the pricey side, but the quality of the food and the craftsmanship of the cocktails make it well worth the cost. I highly recommend this spot for any meal. Whether you’re a regular or a first-time visitor, the brunch at Stash Box is not to be missed.

We came to Stash Box on a reservation, for a birthday. I appreciate that you can make a res on Open Table. We were seated immediately upon entering. We sat for about 2 minutes before server came over. First round of drinks were a “not movie quality” ($16) and a champagne supernova ($16). We also ordered the pork belly rangoons ($15) as an appetizer. The drinks were delicious as were the rangoons. Entrees were a corn and chicken fritter ($22), and a steak frites ($29) medium. I also ordered a carrot appetizer ($15) as a side. The carrots came before the entrees: they were cut in half, perfectly seasoned, with creamy feta. Absolutely delicious. My chicken and corn fritters were dry. Some bites had chicken, some had fritter. My husband enjoyed the steak. We spent $208 with tax and tip, but well worth it. Definitely will go back.

The owner of Stashbox was incredibly inviting and a pleasure to talk to. He was very informative about the food, and when I asked which culinary school he attended, he shared that he had been a lifelong bartender but picked up a lot from working with his chef—an honest and humble response that made the experience more personal.

When we walked in, it looked like an old dive bar, but the atmosphere was unexpectedly pleasant. Ceiling fans helped with air circulation, and there’s a nice front patio area. It’s also wheelchair accessible, which is a thoughtful touch. Parking is paid but expected in the area—though a bonus that it’s free on Sundays. Bathrooms are gender-neutral, which I appreciate because it usually means less waiting.

We came in hoping to try the miso-charred avocado, but they were out—disappointing, especially since my wife was really excited about it. We went with the pork belly rangoons instead. My wife, who’s Korean, felt the pork could’ve been crispier before frying, and I agree the dough had a darker tone and tasted like the frying oil may have been past its prime. Still edible, but not great.

On the plus side, the duck breast was fantastic—cooked just right—and the brussel sprouts that came with it were a surprising standout.

All in all, I’d recommend giving this place a try. I get the sense they usually do a solid job, and it may have just been a bit off due to the long weekend. I’d be open to returning when they’re back in...

My recent visit to the stashbox left me with mixed feelings. With high expectations of a trendy, high-end dining experience, I was hoping for a restaurant that would deliver on all fronts. While the overall vibe was undeniably cool, I couldn't help but feel that the establishment lacked a clear mission. The quality of the ingredients and flavors was decent, but it fell short of the excellence that one would expect at this price point. It was clear that the kitchen had potential, but the execution didn't quite hit the mark.

While the food aspect may have been underwhelming, the ambiance and vibe of the restaurant were definitely its strong points. The trendy atmosphere was apparent throughout the establishment, and it had the potential to create a memorable dining experience. It would be beneficial for the restaurant to establish a strong identity and purpose to enhance the overall dining experience.

In conclusion, the stash box the potential to become the high-end, trendy establishment it aspires to be with an honest look at their mission and aligning value with the...
