Sat down immediately. Waited 10 minutes to order waters. Waited another 10 minutes before we could get clarification of the menu. Once we were able to order, we my wife was told that it would benefit us to order the 3 rolls from the menu instead of the all-you-can-eat, because her rolls were buy 2 get 1 free. I ordered the all-you-can-eat. Our food came out after 42 minutes of waiting. My 3 rolls didn't seem quite right because 1 of them didn't have salmon on top like it was described and the other did not look like tuna at all. The sushi's taste was above average, but when I could finally track down the waiter I asked to point out my rolls for me. 2 of the 3 were correct even though the was no salmon on top. The third was incorrect and not even close. I was told it was Snow White, with crab, to which I replied I was allergic to crab and not what I ordered at all. There was no apology and no concern for my health. The waiter just walked away to never come back. I walked up to the front to pay. In the end we were charged for all 3 of my wife's rolls...which was more expensive than the all-you-can-eat. No correction was made for mine. We walked out, drove home, and then I threw up for the next 17 hours. We not only missed the start of our best friend's birthday party because of the slow service, we also missed the whole thing...and worse, I missed half the next day with my kids who I only get quality time with on...
Read moreI ordered from this restaurant on 2 separate occasions through grubhub, both times there were significant issues with my order. I do not have an issue with the quality or taste of the food, it's amazing for the price (if you don't factor in grubhub fees). The 1st time I ordered, the I was given the wrong roll but I had received a very large free roll with the order to compensate but I had not known until the order had arrived at my door and had already been paid for, it was not a huge issue at the time but I was still a little annoyed. However, the 2nd time I had ordered I purchased the spicy tuna roll, spicy salmon roll, and the california roll. I got the california roll with no issues but the spicy tuna and salmon came as 2 pieces instead of the regular order which I had paid for. Normally on grubhub if an item is out of stock or the restaurant is unable to prepare the item, the particular items will be grayed out and you cannot order them but that was not the case ordering from this place. The ticket even had the 2 pieces listed instead of what I had actually tried to order. I paid full price for what was on my order but received smaller portions. I received a refund for one of the spicy rolls but my issue is that every single time I've ordered food, there has been a mistake on my order and...
Read moreI have to leave a review because I just read something familiar and disturbing in a post that was left three weeks ago. I love Sushi Ai in St. Charles and when this Sushi Ai opened I wanted to take someone there that had never had Sushi. I raved about how good this place was for a beginner to start with. As we sat there chomping away on our edamame, the cook came out of the kitchen and pulled up a stool next to the chef making our rolls. He then, started to pluck excrements from his nostril and FLICK them to the floor. All of our stomachs turned. We wanted to immediately cancel our order. Our waitress was no where to be seen. She finally appeared when she picked up the plates from the chef table and brought them to our table. I felt horrible but my stomach was turning and I couldn't bring myself to want the food. I hated that all of the food was wasted, that she never came to our table from the time she dropped off the edamame and the plenty of time we waited for the rolls. Everyone at our table agreed. We told her what happened and that I hated it but, we were not eating here or paying for the rolls they made, and we were leaving. I never left a review because I thought it was an isolated incident and everyone that was not there could be spared the details. I'm sad to see it...
