El Maguey Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Manchester

To be honest, this isn’t my favorite location in the chain. While the food can be good, my experiences with the service have been consistently underwhelming. On one visit, I had a rather rude server, and during another, a different server noticed an issue with my food but simply commented, “Oh wow, look at that,” without offering any help, napkins, or follow-up—which felt dismissive.

I've been to two El Maguey locations, and unfortunately, the service at both has been disappointing at times. At one, we were simply ignored but that was ODD for that location. But at this location, even when my food was served in a noticeably off or unappetizing way, the lack of engagement from staff left a poor impression—especially during a return visit when we ordered both food and drinks and still didn’t receive attentive service which was very different from their other location.

That said, the food itself is generally tasty, the happy hour deals are solid, and wait times haven’t been an issue. I just wish the service matched the quality of the menu. I just know at this location we try and do carry out only and come prepared to doctor the food...

Took my girlfriend here after seeing a movie at Ronnie's because of the location. over 30 minutes to close, so we entered. The service was lazy and negative because of the time. While taking our order, our waitress was unhappy with no smiles. She came a total of 2 times to our table. Once to ask our order, and the second, to give us the check.

When the food came out, the beans were missing. She didn't mention why or try to compensate for it. When we asked her, she simply said they were out. No discount, or anything. The Salsa wasn't refilled when we finished it, and it took forever to get the food out. Not to mention the location of this restaurant is sketchy, you would think they would try their best to make the experience a superb one.

Seriously pissed off I ate dinner here last night and it was good food no problem. Well this morning I woke up am realized my purse was missing. I called the restaurant and they told me they did not have it. So me an my husband looked around our house again trying to find it. Well my husband gets on the phone and calls them an they said yes we have it its in the office. We said thank you we will be there to get it. We live over an hour away. When we got here the manager was no where to be found an the office was locked. The employees said he's the only one with the key they called him an he said he would not be back for an hour and a half. Mind you we got here at 3pm he told us he would be here at 430 here it is 530 an he is still not here an not answering the phone we called south County police an there is nothing that can be done.
